The Saturdays Taking July Off For 2nd Album

Tuesday, 9th June, 2009

The Saturdays have revealed that the whole of July will be dedicated to getting their next album ready.

The girl group, who are currently on tour, admit that they would like their second album to continue in a similar style to ‘Chasing Lights’ – but add that it is definitely a progression from their 2008 debut.

Speaking to Digital Spy, band member Mollie King explains: “It’s a similar sound. We’ve got a lot of people that like our sound at the moment so we didn’t want to go too different.”

“But it is a progression.” King continues. “Your second album always needs to be.”

Frankie Sandford adds: “We’re taking some time out because we’re on tour at the minute. But we’re going to get back to it in July and the whole month is pretty much for the second album.”

The Saturdays have admitted that they are “really excited” about recording their second studio album.

The ‘Issues’ singers, who are currently on their first headline tour, have promised that the record will be a “progression” from their debut Chasing Lights.

“It’s a similar sound. We’ve got a lot of people that like our sound at the moment so we didn’t want to go too different,” Mollie King told DS.

“But it is a progression. Your second album always needs to be.”

“We’re taking some time out because we’re on tour at the minute. But we’re going to get back to it in July and the whole month is pretty much for the second album,” Frankie Sandford added.
