The Saturdays hit Clapham Common

@TheSaturdays are set to play Clapham Common (how erm glam?) with Taio Cruz and Chipmunk in September …

Just when you thought all the festivals had been announced, here comes another cheeky day festival in September – huzzah! The Saturdays, Chipmunk and Taio Cruz will grace the stage of Clapham Common on September 10th – to soften the blow of going back to school.

The festival’s in support of the 2012 London Paralympic Games and marks just under a year to go until they begin.The Common will even have a sports arena where paralympic sports will be demonstrated, which we think’s pretty awesome.

Frankie Sandford thinks it’s a bangtidy idea too;

“We’re all really chuffed to be performing at Sainsburys Super Saturday.

“In the run up to London 2012, this gig will shine a spotlight on the Paralympic Games which we’re all massive supporters of.”

Tickets go on sale on 20th May, costing £50.50 (including fees) for adults

Chipmunk: “I’m gonna be writing for the saturdays”

Chipmunk: “Collaborations Are Boring”  Chipmunk at This Is It Premiere

However, Chip Diddy Chip confirms he would like to work with The Saturdays…

Chipmunk has confessed that he wants to stop collaborating with other artists because he thinks it’s ‘boring’.

The Oopsy Daisy hitmaker told The Daily Star: “I won’t do any more N-Dubz records. I’ll probably leave all the collaborations now and concentrate on my own thing. It’s all got a bit boring.”

He added: “It’s nice at first. It gives new artists a leg up. But I don’t want people to expect who is gonna be on my next album and for them to actually appear on it.”

The rapper, whose new single Until You Were Gone is in fact a collaboration with Justin Timberlake‘s protégé Esmée Denters did add that if the chance came about, he wouldn’t turn down working with girl band The Saturdays.

The 19-year said: “The Saturdays are pretty girls. I’m gonna be writing for them, giving them beats and verses. They need more edge and I’m on it.”

Chip Wants to Work With Sats!

Chipmunk Wants to Work With The Saturdays!

We know these acts like each other and respect (love!) each other’s work, but what if they were combined? Chipmunk, 18, told the Daily Star (according to Digital Spy) he wants to work with The Sats after beating them to #1 with “Oopsy Daisy” on Sunday (Oct. 11). “When I heard we were coming out on the same day as The Saturdays, I was nervous,” he says. “We are going to be working together – gimme one of their verses and I’m gonna kill it.” Speaking on his new notoriety as number 1, he said, “I was just not expecting this. For me, having a number one single is a turning point for rappers, rhymers, MCs in general.” His debut record, I Am Chipmunk, is now in stores. Buy it at his website here.
