Frankie: ‘Music isn’t my priority anymore.’

Frankie_Bridge_2649692aFrankie’s long awaited interview with Fabulous magazine is out today in The Sun newspaper, or you can read the entire thing online here.

The article is interesting, discussing the issues with her pregnancy and no she’s not had a boob job for those wondering.

There are also key questions asked about the group, and sadly for those of us expecting a reunion anytime soon should start packing our bags and move onto either Una/Mollie/Vanessa’s solo careers’ as Frankie says she has no plans for music for a while.

Frankie plans to spend this year figuring out what she wants to do next. She recently made a film on internet trolling for Victoria Derbyshire on BBC2, which has given her a taste for “doing something that has a real meaning.”

What’s definitely not on the cards any time soon is a Saturdays reunion. While all the girls remain great friends, each is happy doing her own thing, and Frankie says there are no plans to get back together.

“We haven’t split up, but we are having a break,” she says. “I will always miss performing, but I’ve been doing it since I was 12. It’s quite nice to get invited to something and be able to say: ‘Yeah, I’ll come!’ I’m so used to never knowing until the last minute because when you’re in a band, your schedule is not your own.

“So it’s really nice to have this freedom, but I do sometimes feel a bit lost. Like: ‘Oh, I’ve got nothing to do today. Let’s go to the farm again!’

“As a band, we’ve always been really understanding of each other, and I just think whatever happens will happen naturally.”

What’s quite telling, though, is the fact that Frankie clearly sees her future away from music. She speaks at length about how a career in the industry simply isn’t compatible with family life, which surely means it’s curtains for The Saturdays.

“You have to dedicate so much time to music, and that’s just not my priority now I’ve got children. I want to work – it’s part of who I am – but I also want to be able to pick my kids up from school and watch them on sports day. I always wanted to be successful, but I never wanted to be a successful person without a family.

“If you’d have asked me five or six years ago, I’d be like: ‘Yes, I want to try a solo career.’ But now I’ve been at it for so long and I feel like I’ve achieved what I want to.”

Frankie to miss strictly tour – She’s pregnant!

Everyone here at The Saturdays Fansite would like to congratulate Frankie and Wayne for their announcement that baby number two is on the way!

Frankie took to twitter tonight to announce that she is expecting baby two and will therefore be missing the Strictly Tour:

We extend our congratulations to the couple! 🙂

Congratulations to Una and Ben!!

There was mass speculation last night to Una being pregnant, and seemingly she’s responded to it by announcing that she is indeed expecting a second child with her husband Ben!

Everyone here at The Saturdays Fansite sends out our congratulations to the couple, and of course Aoife Belle who will have a new brother or sister!

Frankie, Alaia-Mai and Gentleman

Happy Wednesday to you all! It’s the peak of the working week, the weekend is just around the corner! Our gallery was updated last night with lots of new pictures from recent events with the girls, make sure you pop over and take a look 🙂

We start up with Frankie, who has been speaking to Look Magazine:

Yep, the 24-year-old may have made her performance with her The Saturdays bandmates in front of the 80,000 strong crowd look easy, but she’s admitted there’s something else that’s got her feeling shaky – giving birth!

“I think it did really hit me when I went in to see Rochelle when she’d just had Alaia,” Frankie told LOOK. “I was like OK there’s actually a baby at the end of this so that was weird. No, it’s exciting too…”

But the Gentleman singer, who got engaged to boyfriend Wayne Bridge, 32, in April, has got pal Una, 31, to help her out – as she’s already been coaching new mum Rochelle, “I’ve been giving her loads of tips,” she said.

Gentleman isn’t released for another few weeks yet, but the girls have been speaking about how there is no pressure about it getting to the top .. seems a tad negative to me, but Mollie has said:

“We’re not really feeling the pressure with the new single,” Mollie King told Digital Spy. “It’s more excitement. We’ve had that number one which we wanted so much and now we just hope our music continues to do well.

“Coming off the back of a number one is always going to be tricky, but we all love the song and everyone really seems to be getting behind it. That’s the most important thing.”

Teasing news of their forthcoming album, Frankie Sandford said: “[It’s] pretty much done. We think it’s going to be out towards the end of the year. We really can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

“We’ve worked with some amazing producers and we’re excited to see what the fans think of it.”

Remember you can catch the girls most recent performance of ‘Gentleman’ at CapitalFM’s Summertime Ball on the CapitalFM Website

Finally, all together now, awwww:

First up the girls attended the Glamour UK Awards last night! They also picked up Best Band at the award show, so congratulations to the girls! 🙂 Each of our girls looked very glam on the red carpet it has to be said! Check out a couple of pictures below. Frankie was showing off her new longer hair for the first time at a public event, what do you think about her new look? Give us a tweet! As I (keep) saying hopefully I will get around to updating the gallery shortly, I just need to find some time to find the images and upload them, please keep following our twitter account @TheSatsCoUk for the latest on the gallery updates as and when they happen

Talking Frankie, she has been talking about her pregnancy.
Asked about Rochelle’s daughter, Sandford told Star magazine: “It’s making me really impatient! I’m like, ‘Oh I want it to be out now’ She also insisted that she is “fine” about continuing The Saturdays’ dance routines while pregnant, but “might have to slightly lower the heel”.

Check back later in the day as we will also be adding Frankie on Sweat The Small Stuff – to complete the show, Mollie and Vanessa are on the show next week! Plus the girls where on that ‘The Show With Vinny’ on MTV US last week, we will have the girls on there also 🙂

I wanted to be the first to tell you…we have some exciting news to share!
Marvin and I could NOT be more thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child mid next year.
We have always dreamt of being parents and the news is the best early Christmas present we could have asked for.
I know Marvin is going to be a great dad and we’re so excited to start a family.
Thanks for all of your support and lots of love,

[Updated] Una is pregnant!

Update: Una has confirmed this news via Twitter 🙂

Yes the news is true! @ben_foden and I are expecting a baby BenUna! We are both very excited xx

Everyone here at The Saturdays Fansite sends their congratulations to @unahealy and Ben Foden on the announcement that Una and Ben are expecting their first child, the news was broken by the Daily Mirror last night and has been picked up by the media throughout the night.

The “delighted” 29-year-old rushed home on Wednesday night to break the happy news to her mammy and daddy in County Tipperary (it’s a long way, but she had to do it).

The Irish beauty says: “I’m really happy! It was totally unexpected, but me and Ben are really excited.”

Ben is currently on the other side of the world, touring New Zealand with the England rugby team for the World Cup.

He celebrated the announcement with team-mates including Mike Tindall and Jonny Wilkinson at their hotel in Queenstown.

As for Una’s bandmates, they are made up.

The girls said last night: “We’re so excited for Una! We can’t wait to have a sixth Saturday.

“Ben and Una are going to be fab parents!”

The singer will reach the three-month mark next week, and has undergone regular hospital check-ups to ensure the baby is healthy – although she doesn’t yet know the sex.

Una has shelved plans to celebrate her 30th birthday with Ben in New Zealand next month, as she’s worried about the effect the long-haul flight might have on her and the little ‘un.

The couple have been dating since November 2008 and Ben, 26, revealed in March that he planned to pop the question over the coming months.

He said: “We’ve been discussing marriage for some time. It will happen and I want lots of children.” A friend said: “All the girls are absolutely overjoyed for Una – they can’t wait to meet the first Saturday baby!

“He or she is going to have four very excited aunties when they arrive in late March.

“All of Una’s family are really supportive, too. She was overwhelmed by the response when she went home.

“Ben’s delighted. He’s looking forward to celebrating fully with Una when the World Cup is over.”

Una returns to the UK to perform with the band on Friday.

A pal says she will continue with their schedule as planned, “right up until she’s fit to burst”.

The Saturdays will be promoting their forthcoming album and completing their All Fired Up tour, which kicks off in December.

Although Una’s skimpy outfits might have to be let out a little….
