solo

Hello!!

the-saturdays-heroes-concert-in-london-sept-2010-02-2200x1593

No, I’m not singing the Adele song, I don’t have the voice to pull that off! Just thought it’s time for a friendly post to say, hello!!

So what is going on? Well we are approaching our 8th birthday in a little over a month, more on that in April. Eight years … and sadly its never been more quiet really.

Musically … Vanessa is recording a second EP, Una is in the recording studio laying down the music to her upcoming album.

Mollie’s first single could be called ‘Reckless Heart’, as being reported on pop justice. Written by Mollie and Steve Anderson (who is known for his work with Kylie, also worked on ‘Breathe On Me’ by Britney Spears), hopefully we will hear more on this in the coming weeks!

Frankie is seemingly happy with two children for now in a recent magazine interview and Rochelle has seemingly lend some vocals to her husbands Luv Bug venture but we presume she is still working on various TV roles.

Hopefully we’d have more music from the three going solo sooner rather than later, be a nice birthday present if so!

Keep playing The Saturdays, we’re not giving up yet!

Mollie signs solo record deal with Island

According to The Sun, Mollie has signed a record deal with Island Music and will be releasing her debut solo single in 2016:

The Sun have claimed to have spoken to Mollie about it, quoting Mollie as saying:

“Signing with Island Records is so exciting, as it’s such a creative label with so much history. I’ve had some brilliant meetings with the label and we’re all on the same page about musical direction. I’m now in the studio recording. I’ve got lots of ideas for what I want to achieve. My first solo single will be out next year and I’m already looking forward to what 2016 has in store.”

The newspaper also claim that Una is in talks about her own solo music deal. All this after Vanessa dropped her first solo song a few weeks ago, seemingly the future of The Saturdays is as doubtful as ever.

Vanessa goes solo, 2016 calendar dropped

Vanessa: “We’re testing the waters a bit and seeing what’s out there,”

Members still continue to deny that The Saturdays are over,  but today was the first sign that a reunion is a long way off. Vanessa has become the first member to release solo music, speaking to Schon Magazine:

“I don’t think being in The Saturdays has held me back, I’ve always been a fan of that type of music anyway. It’s just kind of perfect timing now because I feel like I’ve grown as an artist. If it wasn’t for all the experiences I had with the group I wouldn’t be in this place now, so I’m so really grateful for all of it.”

Vanessa has confirmed everything will heat up in 2016, but to tease fans a new song, ‘Relationship Goals’ has been posted online:

We’ve also had confirmation that The Saturdays 2016 calendar has been cancelled.

Wildfire … wildfire

We are alive, promise! It’s just silly time, where members are seemingly saying they aren’t going solo, and then 3 hours later are posting pictures from recording studios … magical all this and its not a case of Black Magic (we hope!)

Anyway, here’s a post that celebrates how decent Wildfire actually is …

Still one of the best parts of the tour too!

Saturdays set for new solo careers as Una, Mollie and Vanessa go separate ways

TheSatsCoUk-111214-13

Not that this article is saying much more than we didn’t know already, as I posted previously I would be shocked if by Christmas this year we hadn’t had seen three solo releases … and now being reported by The Mirror!

They’ve been standing side by side on stage for eight years, but now 3am can reveal THREE members of five-piece girl group The Saturdays are launching solo careers.

Una Foden, Mollie King and Vanessa White have been in separate studios working on their own music.

While the girls are hoping to release their new solo material by the end of the year, we hear that they’re each going for a very different sound.

Irish songbird Una, 33, who has two children with rugby player hubby Ben Foden, is the closest to signing a record deal and has been honing an acoustic, country sound with her guitar and songwriting skills.

Pop princess Mollie , 27, has been polishing off a disco vibe with an 80s feel and a big Kylie Minogue influence. She is close behind Una in securing record label backing.

Meanwhile, the girlband’s youngest member – party girl Vanessa, 25 – is experimenting with an R&B feel, inspired largely by Rihanna. She is trying to find edgy tracks that show off her impressive vocal range.

The Saturdays are still signed to Polydor, but are having a breather from releasing music as a group.

The move comes as Rochelle Humes, 26, focuses on her TV and presenting work and Frankie Bridge, 26, prepares to give birth to her second child.

An insider tells us: “Una, Mollie and Vanessa are all really excited and a
bit nervous about releasing their solo material, but it’s been a long time in the pipeline.

“The girls are still a band, but they’re all happy to work on their own solo projects. It means there’s no animosity or frustration between them – it’s a set-up which works really well.”
