February 2013

Una gets angry! Plus dublin gig.

Firstly the girls are playing a special concert in Dublin! They are playing a one-off show at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, Ireland on March 28, to mark the venue’s 1-year anniversary! All proceeds from the show will go to the society of St Vincent De Paul.

Pre-sale tickets are available now to Bord Gáis Energy Reward Club members, and will be on sale to the public this Friday at 9am from Ticketmaster.

In other news, Una Healy insists she rarely rows with husband Ben Foden, but she does get cross about his messy ways.

Una Healy shouts at her husband when he leaves his dirty clothes on the floor.

The Saturdays singer is married to England rugby player Ben Foden and she insists his most annoying habit is when he uses the floor of their house as a laundry bin.

She moaned: ”We don’t have massive arguments any more. But I get annoyed when I see clothes of his on the floor or he hasn’t made the bed. If you don’t know what I’m like, you might think I’m being aggressive, but he just laughs at me now.”

Una – who has an 11-month-old daughter, Aoife, with Ben – likes to keep her spouse organised so she makes him lists of chores to do when she goes out, however, he doesn’t always follow her instructions.

She told Britain’s OK! magazine: ”I make lists. I say, ‘When I get back you must make sure the bins are left out, because you know they’re only collected every two weeks.’ I come back and the bin is overflowing. The Christmas tree is still in the back, it’s an eyesore.

”I can’t relax until after my lists are done!”

Ben is definitely not a fan of his wife’s lists of jobs but he appreciates her busy demeanour is a good balance to his laid back attitude to life.

He said: ”I give her a bit of grief because she’s so stressed about everything. We’ll have a day off but before we relax she wants to do everything off her mental list. She’s very organised and motivated, whereas I’m lazy and messy! Chalk and cheese.”

Pancakes!

It’s Tuesday, its February it only means one thing, its Pancake day! It’s time to admit how many pancakes you will eat tonight, I shall probably have 2 (or 3) depending on how I feel.
It’s also my first anniversary today, so I’ll use the site to say thank you to those members of TeamSats who have supported me and Rosie since day 1 🙂 We do appreciate all your support.

If you are looking at this through blurry eyes, I do have something that will easily wake you up and instantly make you feel better. Here is our lovely Una, grabbing her guitar and giving us an acoustic (solo) performance of Somebody Else’s Life – how amazing is that?!

The DailyMail (who else) have given their review of Chasing The Saturdays (Episode 4) –  I do find it a little funny that the UK media are just going with the US pacing of the show and not the UK one .. I guess there is a chance the final episode will air near each other but for now, there is a 2 week difference.

OK Magazine are running an ‘exclusive’ on how the love-king helped keep Una and Ben’s proposal a surprise:

Una Healy and Ben Foden have revealed how Mollie King helped plan his surprise proposal and their heartbreak at being away from daughter Aoife Belle.

Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine, the rugby hunk confessed he ‘conspired’ with The Saturdays to make his secret engagement party as special as possible.
He said: “I’d conspired with Mollie [King]. I’d got the the other girls to wait at my house along with friends and family and it was a complete surprise.”
The romantic couple – who will be celebrating their daughter’s first birthday next month – also opened up about balancing their family life with their work commitments.
Una admitted she was brought to tears the first time she had to leave little Aoife behind, because of her hectic US schedule with her bandmates.
“The first time I’d been apart from her was for a week in New York and I was so down. But we got through it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” she added.

Monday Roundup

Hey all! Hope you all had a lovely weekend, I spent the weekend in Blackpool catching another concert – by Little Mix – they put on a decent show, it had to be said so if you want a girl group fix and need a gig you won’t go far wrong with them, a good night out!

Back to our girls tho, this is a roundup of what has happened over the last few days. Chasing The Saturdays aired both in the UK (Episode 2) and in the US (Episode 4) last night, as per the US-speed of the show a VEVOLift video has been added, here’s some #DeepFriedSats ..

The Saturdays also seem to have a new-founded gambling habit. As well as appearing at Antree the girls (alongside Lawson) are also headlining a night at Newmarket Racecourse on June 8th.

To round up, and going back to my opening, the girls are feeling bad for One Direction’s Zayn and Little Mix’s Perrie.

Rochelle Humes told heat radio: “They’re gonna get that. Sadly it comes with the territory and that’s one of the downsides.”

Frankie Sandford added: “I feel quite bad for them. Perrie and Zayn, considering One Direction are one of the biggest boybands in the world and Perrie is in Little Mix, you don’t actually know much about their relationship. You feel a bit for them.  It’s out of their hands.”

Spice up your Sats!

Update: Rochelle has confirmed shes set to appear on a new BBC show called ‘Sweat The Small Stuff’ … more details soon (hopefully)

The girls are featuring in InTouch magazine in the USA, of which Rochelle talks about being compaired to the Spice Girls:

Giving her opinion on what she makes of The Saturdays sizing up with the Spice Girls, she said: ‘To be honest, it’s nothing but a compliment!’

But wanting herself and the girls to be known in their own right she added: ‘It’s amazing to be compared to them, but we’re very different.’

Despite claiming that they are different from the Wannabe singers, that didn’t stop Rochelle from handing out names for Vanessa White, Una Healy, Mollie King and Frankie Sandford.

Failing to give herself a nickname, Rochelle quipped: ‘Vanessa would be Party Spice, I’d say Una would be Feisty Spice, Frankie could be Flirty Spice, and Mollie would be Smiley Spice.’

As The Saturdays continue promotion their new reality TV show Chasing The Saturdays, Vanessa did little to rid her party girl title in the interview with In Touch.

Loving life Stateside,’there aren’t enough pubs’, was the only issue White listed the US as she confessed: ‘I get away with a lot.’

Not missing her spot on the dancefloor beside Vanessa, Una said that since giving birth to her little girl Aoife Belle Foden last March she’d had to slow down.

Healy said: ‘I used to be a party person, but having a hangover with a baby is horrible!’

Hoping to break into the US charts the same way boybands One Directions and The Wanted have, Frankie spoke a little about the girls’ relationship with the teen heartthrobs.

Clarifying that they share a family type union, Sandford said: ‘They’re like our brothers.

She joked: ‘When girls are screaming at them, we’re like, “Really?!” They’re just stinky boys to us!’

Also, a lot of people have asked for this, here is the video of Una and Ben on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire that aired last month:

Interviews and more!

The_Saturdays__1667395a

Happy Tuesday all! First news that was announced last night that the UK version of the ‘What About Us’ video with Sean Paul will premiere at midnight on Wednesday on VEVO (where else) so we’ll have that up on the site as soon as its available!

The girls have had an interview with The Sun, its pretty long so I suggest you read the full interview on their site, but to summerise:

The girls talk about Jennifer Lopez and her bottom:

Gorgeous Mollie, recalling their encounter with J-Lo, revealed: “It was surreal. We saw her coming out of the lift. I missed her face but saw her bottom.

“I asked Una, ‘What was her face like? How much make-up was she wearing?’ Una said, ‘I don’t know, I just couldn’t stop staring at the bottom’.

“We were like dudes checking her out. We were rabbiting away then she came out of the lift and we all went silent. I’ve never heard us so quiet.”

Bandmate Una agreed: “As she walked away you were completely drawn to her bottom.”

Frankie also talks about One Direction:

Frankie said: “We love One Direction but they are like little brothers. You see girls screaming at them and it feels a bit weird. I think we’re a little bit old for them.”

They admit there are drawbacks when you hit the level of global fame achieved by their One Direction pal Harry Styles, whose relationship with US superstar Taylor Swift was headline news.

Frankie said: “We knew every step of their relationship, every holiday they went on. That put pressure on them.

“When you are that age you do have relationships that don’t last, a month is a big romance.

“But I thought, ‘Good for them, they are having fun and enjoying it’.

You can read the full interview on The Sun website, but talking about One Direction …

In other (sad) news Marvin has revealed that he will be spending Valentines Day alone as Rochelle (and the others) are due to fly out to LA:

“My wife’s going to be away in Los Angeles, so this year I’ll be definitely spending Valentine’s Day alone.”

Those who are awaiting Una and Ben on Who Wants To Be A Millionare (a few have asked on twitter) it will be on the site tonight, I’ll tweet/facebook an update when its available to make sure you follow us – check the ‘social’ tab at the top of the site 🙂
