Mollie’s debut single – Back To You – Out Now!!

Mollie-King-Back-to-You-2016-2480x2480

We all probably thought we’d never see music other than Vanessa with all the delays to Mollie’s and Una’s project, but we can now officially say the the second member of The Saturdays now has solo music out!

Mollie’s debut single ‘Back To You’ is now available to buy.

You can download and stream the track via iTunesGoogle Play and Amazon Digital now.

Remember the UK charts now heavily rely on streaming points rather than sales. So once you have downloaded it head back to your favourite streaming provider, this means Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Youtube (Official accounts!) and stream their streaming version, rather than hitting replay on the one you purchases. Every 100 streams = 1 sale.

PJ Interview with Mollie

Seems Mollie had a press day on Tuesday, DigitalSpy are touting an interview which is going up today too but lets start with the PopJustice Interview.

You can read the entire thing on PJ but a few picks:

But obviously there is a part of me that’s nervous, because when you come out of a successful girlband—

Or The Saturdays…
SHUT UP! Anyway, when you’re in that situation you know there are eyes watching. I’m not silly, I know people in general are very quick to go “THIS IS A FLOP” and that you have to get the first single right. So I wanted to come out with something I genuinely thought was a great song. So that whatever the outcome, I could still be proud of it. But the responses yesterday seemed to suggest it was going down well.

PJ: When I saw you’d signed a solo deal I did wonder if it would be one of those things where a label chucks thirty grand at an artist and hopes for the best. But looking at the video it feels like Island are taking this quite seriously.

It’s hugely flattering that they wanted to sign me. I had an offer from Sony as well, so I was in a really fortunate position and I felt very lucky, but Island seemed so excited by it, and they didn’t have anything similar to me here. So it felt like I was helping them put a puzzle together.

Was it a writing camp for Mollie, or was it a general thing?

It was part of a general thing — everyone was in there writing different things. Some sessions had writers in writing songs to pitch out, Kesha was there doing her album, I was there doing mine… I was working with people like James Newman, Taylor Parks who’s written loads for Ariana Grande and Fifth Harmony, I was going in and out of studios working with people I’d never had the opportunity to work with in the past.

Mollie’s debut single Back To You is out at midnight tonight, the video is out tomorrow, we will be at TwitterHQ for its play with Mollie herself. If we can ask any questions we shall try!

Mollie teases new single Back To You

Did we expect this?

An very much on tread, slow (electro) pop song? Video with a storyline? … Roll on Friday we say!

We agree Mollie, we might need to cool down after this one!

Speaking to The Sun, Mollie spoke about her new single:
“Back To You is a very personal song to me. A lot of my writing inspiration has come from what I’ve been through over the last couple of years. The song is about a relationship that you know isn’t working but keep going back to them because you love them.
It is about a relationship I had that was in the public eye, but I’ve said everything I want to say about it in the lyrics to the song. Writing the song was actually a cathartic experience, as it allowed me to say everything I was feeling at that time about the situation.
When I first started writing songs for my solo record, I was writing Saturdays style bangers, but one day in the studio I decided to write something that was personal to me and how I was really feeling.”

Mollie ‘set to surprise’ with solo album

Mollie has been chatting to Fault Magazine about her upcoming solo album.

In the interview Mollie chats about her new record, saying that ‘its on the cusp’ of being released, and although its still a pop record it is ‘stylistically’ different from that of The Saturdays, which is apparently shown with the first single.

She says that the music video has been shot and that we should have music very soon. Reports suggest that her album might be released at some time in 2017.

The State of Play

Hello! It’s been a while, and you’d expect a ton of news that has happened, but sadly this isn’t the case … in a positive start Una’s debut album is apparently finished *cough Mollie cough*

Guess that’s a start at least! No news on a lead single, or if she’s going to release it everywhere, or just aim at the Irish market to start with. But will probably have more news on that shortly!

Mollie, well, despite rumours last month that she was shooting the music video, we still don’t have anything. The perils of being signed to a major label, they want everything to be perfect. Hopefully we will be getting something soon, otherwise we will be getting that summer song in mid-winter! Which well … that’s very Saturdays at times isn’t it?

Since the release of her debut EP, Vanessa has been more quiet, I must admit I’ve not been keeping up with all which is going on, it’s been nice to have a break after all these years! Rochelle and Frankie just seem pretty content with life right now – an who really blames them?
