The second solo single from Mollie King, Hair Down, is OUT NOW!
You can download the single from iTunes, Google Play, Amazon UK:
And as the UK charts love streaming, it’s of vital importance that you stream the song from your favourite platform:
Mollie has spoken in depth to The Sun – Fabulous Magazine, and has spoken about her love for American Men, her upcoming Strictly stint, and her upcoming album.
Not only is she one of the favourites to claim the Strictly Come Dancing glitter ball trophy when the new series kicks off next month, but she’s also about to (re)launch her solo career with a self-penned explosion of a tune reminiscent of the Spice Girls at their pop peak.
It adds up to what promises to be a busy next few months.
“I’m beyond excited,” she says of the Strictly news.
“I’ve grown up loving watching people dance, so to have the opportunity to do that one-to-one with a professional – you can’t buy that.”
Does her eight years’ dance experience as one fifth of The Saturdays put her at an advantage? Mollie, 30, says not.
“I’m not a dancer, I never went to stage school so I don’t have that background. I was kicked out of ballet when I was three – the teacher told my mum I had no grace and she was wasting her money!
“The Saturdays was more: ‘Pose here, pose there, change formation.’ This is a whole different ball game, so I’m worried that people will expect me to be a lot better than I actually am!”

Update: Official Press Release. via PressParty
Fresh from the announcement that she is to star in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, Mollie King storms back on to the UK music scene with her new single ‘Hair Down’.
Mollie has reunited with pop maestro Brian Higgins – Xenomania to produce an in your face pop banger that fans have longed to hear from Mollie since her announcement she was releasing solo music.
‘Gotta let my hair down, I just wanna dance now’ proclaims Mollie on a immense track that gets firmly stuck in your head from it’s very first listen.
The song will be released on Friday 1st September via Island Records, accompanied by a breathtaking video, shot in South Africa by Kyle Lewis
Mollie says: “I’ve spent the last few months working hard in the studio developing my sound and experimenting with my solo music. I’m a huge fan of pop music myself and was thrilled about working with Brian Higgins again on this record. Brian wrote and produced ‘All Fired Up’ which was one of my favourite Saturdays songs; he totally gets pop and I think we’ve collaboratively come up with some amazing records that the fans are going to love hopefully as much as I do!”
Mollie has spent the last two years writing and recording her debut solo material with some of the globes hottest producers. Next month sees her hit the dance floor as one of the stars competing in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2017. Mollie is best known as one-fifth of leading girl group, The Saturdays. Since forming in 2007, the multi-platinum selling band have sold over 5 million records and concert tickets worldwide, scored 13 Top 10 singles and 5 Top 10 albums. The band also embarked on four nationwide headline tours and starred in three primetime TV series, including ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ for E! which aired in over 40 territories.
Beyond the group, Mollie has established herself as a mainstay of the fashion press, alongside being a permanent fixture on London’s style scene.
Following in Frankie (and Rochelle’s) footsteps, Mollie has been announced as the first celebrity to be taking part in this years Strictly Come Dancing!

Mollie King insists The Saturdays will reunite in “a couple of years”.
The 29-year-old singer and her fellow girl group members, Una Healy, Vanessa White, Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge, decided to take a break from the music industry in 2014 but the blonde-haired beauty has revealed the ‘Up’ hitmakers are “definitely” set to re-group in the future.
Speaking exclusively about the band’s future to BANG Showbiz at the Coca-Cola Summer Party, which took place at London’s Kachette on Wednesday night (05.10.17), she said: “Definitely. I think that that will definitely be on the cards in a couple of years.”
However, Mollie has revealed for the moment her and the rest of her bandmates are all “having fun” pursuing their solo ventures, which has seen Una launch her own solo single ‘ Stay My Love’, although they still keep in touch with one another.
She continued: “But at the moment we are just having fun doing our own thing and we still catch up with each other all the time. So maybe in a couple of years.”
Mollie is currently in the midst of recording her debut solo album, which has seen her spend “every single day” in the studio working on her own records.
Speaking about her current projects, she said: “I’m recording every single day at the minute. It is absolutely mental.”
And the star is eager for the release of her own tracks this summer, which she has likened to the feel good vibe of The Saturdays hits, because she feels she has been “trapped in a box” and is ready to be free.
She added: “But it is going to becoming out this summer and I cannot wait. I’m literally like I feel I’ve been trapped in a box and I’m ready to get out. I cannot wait for it to come out. The sound is very pop, it’s going to be something you can dance to and just really feel good; you’d have it on with the girls on a road trip or a good night out. Definitely like The Saturdays in the way they feel good and can dance to. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Mollie recently attended the Coachella festival, she talks about hair, style and more with Hello Fashion Magazine:
Mollie King, former Saturday’s star turned fashion blogger, caught up with Hello! Fashion Monthly at this year’s Coachella Festival. Known for her flawless blonde locks and effortless style, it’s no wonder she fits in with the LA cool crowd. This year she worked with ghd to debut many of the festival hair trends we can expect to see over the course of the summer. Find out how the blonde beauty achieves her own hairstyles, what inspires her boho-esque festival fashion choices and why her motto is “go hard or go home!”
What do you love most about Coachella festival & who do you want to see perform?
I love how Coachella has got such a chilled out and fun vibe, plus the setting is incredible and the sun is always shining. The music acts are always amazing too and the fact that when you walk into the festival and see the iconic Coachella wheel, you know that you’ve arrived. I was most excited to see Lady Gaga! And then DJ Snake and Martin Garrix as well. The line-up was great this year!
Blonde or brunette? Have you ever, or would you ever, go brunette?
I am definitely a blonde! I once tried on one of the girls in the band’s dark extensions in the front of my hair and it looked terrible so I wouldn’t try it again – unless I tried low lights so that it was dark underneath but still light on top. I definitely wouldn’t go dark all over.
Yes, I know, it’s a website, how can it have a birthday? Well really it can’t, but 7th April 2017 is the 9th year, lets say anniversary, of The Saturdays Fansite.
I know I post these every year, and every year it’s pretty much the same, but although updates are a lot less, and what is actually going on is a lot less, we have been around serving The Saturdays (or solo) related tidbits for 9 years. Some of you reading this have probably been coming here for 9 years, others might have just stumbled across this page today whilst searching for The Saturdays, or one of it’s members and what they might or might not be doing recently. Either way thank you for visiting, without the visitors the website would be nothing!
As always a huge thanks to everyone who invested time in this site throughout the years, no matter how large or small the involvement, it was a key involvement in creating what the site had become over the years.
Thanks to Mollie, Frankie, Una, Rochelle and Vanessa for being so supportive over the years with the site, which makes all the hard work worth it. Also thanks to Adam, Sarah, Peter and the rest of the team at Fascination who probably thought they had a break from me .. then they go manage Steps!
Hopefully the girls will continue their own solo ventures over the next 12 months so we can reach the big 10! Here’s to the next 12 months!
