Saturdays rap kanye

16th September 2009
THE Saturdays have branded Kanye West “an animal” after his drunken behaviour at the MTV VMAs.

The rapper, 32, has been scratched off the foxy quintet’s Christmas card list after he interrupted Taylor Swift, 19, during her awards acceptance speech.

Rochelle Wiseman, 20, told me: “What an animal. I don’t care if it was a publicity stunt, it was too mean.

“Beyoncé saved the day. What a classy lady – she’s the real star.” Leggy Rochelle has warned her former idol not to try the same stunt at the MTV Europe Awards in November.

“I don’t think he’d dare try it with five of us girls on stage,” she added. “But if he did, he wouldn’t still be standing.”

The fivesome have long expressed their desire to work with Kanye West one day, but that’s all changed now.

Rochelle explained: “I don’t know how many times we’ve said we’d love to work with Kanye, but that’s the last time I say that. From now on it’s all about Jay-Z.”

Frankie Sandford, 20, Una Healy, 27, Mollie King, 22, Vanessa White, 19, and Rochelle have been putting the final touches to their second album in LA, and to celebrate they have bought new pooches.

Rochelle said: “I’ve had my pup for a while, but now Frankie and Una have got dogs too.”

Their single Forever Is Over is out October 5.

The Saturdays bring their first UK headlining tour to the Liverpool Empire

Jun 25 2009 by Michael Green, Chester Chronicle

The Saturdays pick up the pace and step on it for the release of their new single Work on June 29, coinciding nicely with their UK tour.

The track is The Saturdays’ follow-up track to their hit single, Just Can’t Get Enough, released in March for Comic Relief.

Work sees The Saturdays head to the dance floor and tear the roof off it.

“I’m so excited about releasing Work,” says Vanessa. “It’s one of my favourite songs on the album so I’ve been really looking forward to performing the routine.

“It seems to be a lot of people’s favourite too, so we’re hoping it will do really well.”

The Saturdays are Frankie from Essex, Una from Tipperary, Ireland, Mollie from Richmond, Vanessa from East London and Rochelle from Essex.

They have now embarked on their first ever headline UK tour.

“I can’t believe we are about to go out on our first tour,” says Una.Š“We hadn’t even released our debut single this time last year and nobody knew us.

“So many great things have happened and we can’t wait to go out and perform on our own headline tour.”

The Saturdays are one of the success stories of the last year. In nine months, they have had four top 10 singles and a top 10 album.

They can be seen live at the Liverpool Empire on Monday. Ring 0870 606 3536 for details.

The Saturdays Win Over Fans

June 24, 2009

Electro-pop girl band, The Saturdays brought their glitzy stage show to Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall as part of their first solo tour since hitting the music scene last year.

Following their arrival into girl-pop’s elite, the five-piece – Frankie, Mollie, Vanessa, Una and Michelle – have stormed the charts with a series of hits including.

They rocked the crowd with tunes like Issues, If This Is Love and their recent Comic Relief hit, Just Can’t Get Enough, smiling when the mostly teenage audience offered appreciative screams and rapturous applause.

The set included a three-song super medley of the girls’ favourite songs, Beggin’ (Madcon), So What (Pink) and I Kissed A Girl (Katy Perry), which went down a treat.

With a stage set more suited for an arena tour, four costume changes and plenty of vocal ability and dance moves thrown in for good measure, these girls will more than likely be playing to a much larger audience next year with a second album and more pop hits under their belts.

The Saturdays Taking July Off For 2nd Album

Tuesday, 9th June, 2009

The Saturdays have revealed that the whole of July will be dedicated to getting their next album ready.

The girl group, who are currently on tour, admit that they would like their second album to continue in a similar style to ‘Chasing Lights’ – but add that it is definitely a progression from their 2008 debut.

Speaking to Digital Spy, band member Mollie King explains: “It’s a similar sound. We’ve got a lot of people that like our sound at the moment so we didn’t want to go too different.”

“But it is a progression.” King continues. “Your second album always needs to be.”

Frankie Sandford adds: “We’re taking some time out because we’re on tour at the minute. But we’re going to get back to it in July and the whole month is pretty much for the second album.”

By David Balls, Music Reporter

The Saturdays have admitted that they are “really excited” about recording their second studio album.

The ‘Issues’ singers, who are currently on their first headline tour, have promised that the record will be a “progression” from their debut Chasing Lights.

“It’s a similar sound. We’ve got a lot of people that like our sound at the moment so we didn’t want to go too different,” Mollie King told DS.

“But it is a progression. Your second album always needs to be.”

“We’re taking some time out because we’re on tour at the minute. But we’re going to get back to it in July and the whole month is pretty much for the second album,” Frankie Sandford added.
