We all probably thought we’d never see music other than Vanessa with all the delays to Mollie’s and Una’s project, but we can now officially say the the second member of The Saturdays now has solo music out!

Mollie’s debut single ‘Back To You’ is now available to buy.

You can download and stream the track via iTunesGoogle Play and Amazon Digital now.

Remember the UK charts now heavily rely on streaming points rather than sales. So once you have downloaded it head back to your favourite streaming provider, this means Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Youtube (Official accounts!) and stream their streaming version, rather than hitting replay on the one you purchases. Every 100 streams = 1 sale.

PJ Interview with Mollie

Seems Mollie had a press day on Tuesday, DigitalSpy are touting an interview which is going up today too but lets start with the PopJustice Interview.

You can read the entire thing on PJ but a few picks:

But obviously there is a part of me that’s nervous, because when you come out of a successful girlband—

Or The Saturdays…
SHUT UP! Anyway, when you’re in that situation you know there are eyes watching. I’m not silly, I know people in general are very quick to go “THIS IS A FLOP” and that you have to get the first single right. So I wanted to come out with something I genuinely thought was a great song. So that whatever the outcome, I could still be proud of it. But the responses yesterday seemed to suggest it was going down well.

PJ: When I saw you’d signed a solo deal I did wonder if it would be one of those things where a label chucks thirty grand at an artist and hopes for the best. But looking at the video it feels like Island are taking this quite seriously.

It’s hugely flattering that they wanted to sign me. I had an offer from Sony as well, so I was in a really fortunate position and I felt very lucky, but Island seemed so excited by it, and they didn’t have anything similar to me here. So it felt like I was helping them put a puzzle together.

Was it a writing camp for Mollie, or was it a general thing?

It was part of a general thing — everyone was in there writing different things. Some sessions had writers in writing songs to pitch out, Kesha was there doing her album, I was there doing mine… I was working with people like James Newman, Taylor Parks who’s written loads for Ariana Grande and Fifth Harmony, I was going in and out of studios working with people I’d never had the opportunity to work with in the past.

Mollie’s debut single Back To You is out at midnight tonight, the video is out tomorrow, we will be at TwitterHQ for its play with Mollie herself. If we can ask any questions we shall try!

Mollie teases new single Back To You

Did we expect this?

An very much on tread, slow (electro) pop song? Video with a storyline? … Roll on Friday we say!

Mollie for Bizarre
Mollie for Bizarre

We agree Mollie, we might need to cool down after this one!

Speaking to The Sun, Mollie spoke about her new single:
“Back To You is a very personal song to me. A lot of my writing inspiration has come from what I’ve been through over the last couple of years. The song is about a relationship that you know isn’t working but keep going back to them because you love them.
It is about a relationship I had that was in the public eye, but I’ve said everything I want to say about it in the lyrics to the song. Writing the song was actually a cathartic experience, as it allowed me to say everything I was feeling at that time about the situation.
When I first started writing songs for my solo record, I was writing Saturdays style bangers, but one day in the studio I decided to write something that was personal to me and how I was really feeling.”

Mollie hits the Studio, Vanessa sadly doesn’t want to be our lover

Hi All,

Not too much is really happening, still …

Mollie has been in LA recording, seemingly with Producer J Que Smith. Who you might ask? He’s was part of the production team ‘The Clutch’ and has written/produced songs such as Usher’s ‘Yeah!’ Britney Spear’s ‘Radar’ and ‘Freakshow’, Beyonce’s ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ and Ariana Grande ‘Baby I’ … interesting times ahead.

Vanessa has dropped her new song ‘Don’t Wanna Be Your Lover’ via Wonderland Magazine, continuing down the same vibe as Relationship Goals, its a cool laid-back RnB number that probably wouldn’t be too out of place on a few albums recently released, you can listen to it below!

Mollie signs solo record deal with Island

According to The Sun, Mollie has signed a record deal with Island Music and will be releasing her debut solo single in 2016:

The Sun have claimed to have spoken to Mollie about it, quoting Mollie as saying:

“Signing with Island Records is so exciting, as it’s such a creative label with so much history. I’ve had some brilliant meetings with the label and we’re all on the same page about musical direction. I’m now in the studio recording. I’ve got lots of ideas for what I want to achieve. My first solo single will be out next year and I’m already looking forward to what 2016 has in store.”

The newspaper also claim that Una is in talks about her own solo music deal. All this after Vanessa dropped her first solo song a few weeks ago, seemingly the future of The Saturdays is as doubtful as ever.

Mollie: ‘I’d be lying if I said I was ready for the band to end,’

Our very own Mollie appears in this weeks Notion magazine. She chats about life with David Gandy and how he does a lot of the cooking!

She also mentions The Saturdays – remember them – and although its hardly the most negative of news, it doesn’t spin too much positive vibes either …

‘I’d be lying if I said I was ready for the band to end,’ she tells Notion. ‘We’ll get back in the studio at some point. I’d really like us all to do another tour together.’

The chart-topper admits though that she’d like to follow in Rochelle’s footsteps and try something different, admitting that she wouldn’t rule out a spot on The X Factor judging panel.

‘I’d love to be one of those panellists on those shows. I have a lot of opinions about everyone who’s out there,’ she points out, adding that she counts current X Factor judge and former girl-bander Cheryl Fernandez-Versini as one of her biggest inspirations. ‘She’s done so well to transition from Girls Aloud, she’s the ultimate glamorous goddess,’ Mollie gushes.

The new issue of Notion is out this week.
