News Bits: Mollie, All Fired Up Tour, What About Us

Hey all! Sorry for the lack of updates recently as those who follow us on twitter will know I spent the weekend in Sheffield, whilst catching the Steps Christmas show with my girlfriend. Really good fun pop show, would love to see The Saturdays doing a couple of fun filled smaller shows 🙂

Just a brief roundup as it’s looking increasingly likely that December is going to be a barron month with The Saturdays too, although I do hope that we will see the ‘What About Us’ music video shortly as if they are supposedly releasing it in January … unless of course they mean the song will be premiered in January and we will have to wait until Feb/March to get hold of it!

As you are all aware we are proud of all our efforts to help Mollie pick up the Dyslexia Action It’s Me Choice Award, and thanks to ALL your efforts Mollie picked up over 70% of the entire vote and won the award for the Second Year. This week’s flip takes you behind the scenes of the award show. We send out our huge congratulations to Mollie for winning this award again! A true inspirational dyslexic!

Also if you have been following us on twitter, and not living under a rock, it’s that scary time when we look back at a year ago and go ‘where has the time gone?!’ believe it or not it was a YEAR AGO when the All Fired Up Tour kicked off. We went to 4 nights last year, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Brighton and Wembley. Met a whole bunch of people, and had a good time. But seriously its been a year already?! If you have any tour memories drop us a tweet and we’ll RT you!

Talking about ‘What About Us’ and a huge thanks to everyone who e-mailed us about this. The song has actually entered a US chart. What About Us entered at number 44 (don’t giggle its a great start, they are unknown there remember!) in the US Dance/Club Songs. This chart is based on songs played at clubs in the US – the US chart is a bit more modern than the traditional UK based sales charts. Well done girls!

Welcome Home girls!

It’s been three exhausting months for the girls, despite a brief trip home in the middle, as the girls finally pack up and leave LA to return home to the UK after filming – and recording songs – for their attack on the US charts in the new year. The girls have been tweeting their messages about coming home, plus it seems Mollie over packed a bit! But either way we are very happy to see the girls return home to the UK and to start gearing up for the single release of ‘What About Us’ in the new year and the album to follow afterwards 🙂

Welcome home girls! 🙂

News Roundup – 6th November 2012

Hey TeamSats! I know its been a while since the last update, as a lot of you know I work at a school so last week was half-term so I was enjoying a nice break from the madness, but all is back today and I come with an update!

The main news stories over the last few days is that the girls are flying back to the UK this week – tomorrow I believe – so the current part of the US adventure seems to be over. The girls have been busy recording the last few days and have completed the photo shoot for the new album. This is all very exciting, but I’m sure they still have a bit of work left to do in the UK finishing off any recording that they have done with their UK production teams. A few major Christmas Shows are starting to be announced and the girls haven’t been mentioned to appear at any of them yet, so it’s (sadly) looking increasingly likely that we won’t get any true promo of the new single until January either, but if it is out in January like the girls keep saying fingers crossed for the music video this side of Christmas!

The girls have obviously been out and about the last few days too, our gallery has been updated with the latest pictures in HQ so you can view some of the recent events there, including dressing up as Devils at the Maroon 5 halloween party, shopping in Beverly Hills and Performing their debut US concert at the Roxy. You can see more HQ, unaltered pictures in our gallery. Link at the top!

Frankie to miss Roxy Show

Sad news. Frankie won’t be performing with the girls and doing her US duties for the time being due to a death in her family. Frankie found out yesterday that her grandad has sadly passed away and that she is obviously returning to the UK for the funeral and to be with her family. We obviously send our best wishes to Frankie and her family during the sad time.

Below are a few pictures of Frankie and the rest of the girls doing some work in LA before Frankie got the news.
