10th Birthday! Happy Birthday to us!

Wow, not only is this an update, it’s also our 10th birthday celebration!!

A little over 10 years ago a group of people on an S Club Juniors (or S Club 8) forum noticed that a couple of members of that group where apart of something fresh and new, some random all-girl group called ‘The Saturdays’. Very little was known about this group, but a few collective minds puled together and a small site was born. We poked around the Internet for information, we came across information about their debut single, posted some photos from their debut music video, and within a few days I got an e-mail from a record label asking for them to be removed as the group wasn’t ready for their release yet – oops! Then so it started, lots of updates, lots of hours spending ending videos, lots and lots of helpers on the site coming and going, amazing support from the five members of the group, equally amazing support from the girls latter management at Fascination and here we are sitting at our 10th anniversary.

It might ‘only’ be a website, but I still hear stories on how the site has brought out friendships and relationships – and many are still going strong today! I will take this opportunity to personally thank everyone who has helped with this site over the last 10 years, your dedication helped create what this site became. I also extend my thanks to Mollie, Una, Frankie, Vanessa and Rochelle, whoms music, and lifes we all spent many a time with over the years created a bond, a common ground that we all shared a part of and celebrated together on this website and to the girls management who have been understanding and supportive of the fans of the girls giving us all as much access as possible to be on the same journey as the girls.

Not in the slightest would I have thought that in 2008 that I would be posting an update in 2018 celebrating the 10th anniversary of this website, so thank you to YOU, the visitor, those who have been coming since day 1 or those who have stumbled upon us whilst searching for something completely unrelated. The kind words from you online, via e-mail, socialmedia or even in person at events and concerts keep the flame going and making all the effort worthwhile.

Here’s to the next 10 years – or The Saturdays Juniors … maybe?

As always, we’re Not Giving Up, by Living For The Weekend (It is Saturday afterall!)

Happy Birthday To Us – 8 Today!

The Saturdays in 2008

Update:
Thanks to @TheSaturdays on twitter for your kind message!

How glamorous! Today is our 8th Birthday, 8 years ago these girls where looking lovely in neon ( Mollie typically in Pink!)

Who would have thought in 2008 that we would still actually be here in 2016? Not sure I did, not sure many here would be thinking the same too! But yet, here we are, 8 years later, 8 years older, and still playing Work at full blast. Things haven’t change too much have they? I mean we have several children in the band now, but apart from that its still the same, right?

Probably not, but we can dream. But here we are, (still) standing right here .. but lets not get too emotional just yet. A few words …

Usual thing every year, thanks to everyone who made this site possible, those at the start whom decided we should do this, to those who helped though the busier times, though to little old me who still clings on with hope in 2016!

Huge thanks to YOU, the visitors, whom still keep visiting in the hope I’ll be able to say NEW SINGLE COMING SOON, but alas it’s not happened (yet), so please keep visiting and hopefully one day.

Finally to the girls themselves, the girls management and label, whom if they didn’t initially complain we where too far ahead of the label 8 years ago, we might not be as known as we are today. I cannot express how grateful I am to the girls theirselves and their management who have been so helpful over the years!

Here’s to the next 12 months, even if it will only contain more EPs from Vanessa and Mollie giving us some 90s pop throwback, whilst Rochelle fights Marvin for the hosting job of The Voice as it moves from the BBC to ITV. (I joke, honestly!)

Either way, keep up to date via Twitter on @TheSatsCoUk or if that doesn’t float your boat hit us up on Facebook or just keep coming back here! We’re not going anywhere until I say so!

All the best, and remember keep living for the weekend by not giving up!

Happy Birthday To Us – 8 Today! Read More »

Hey all!

As promised a bit of a mini update, not regarding The Saturdays, well okay a little news update, but more just where I stand, and the website stands as of now.

Firstly the website, there will be a few minor changes and adjustments around the place over the next couple of weeks, most will be in the background and you won’t notice any difference. The main update will be we will be shifting all of your connections to the website over to https – secure connections – this won’t affect you visiting the site, everything will remain as is, it just makes the web a little more safer for everyone!

Those visiting on mobile devices should now see the full size, our new theme automatically adjusts depending on what client you are using so we’ve disabled the full blown mobile theme. If people prefer that for mobile devices please get in contact with us!

I will be updating the gallery shortly, giving it a new look – finally – and updating it with some more recent pictures. I’ll update you all when that has happened too!

As for the group, we are still in the same situation when the tour ended, the group are officially on a break, there is no sign of group music in 2015, as for solo attempts, Mollie categorically denied to our faces on Sunday that she is going solo – make of that what you will.

I will do a proper site update with news shortly, remember to keep in touch use our social media platforms on Twitter @TheSatsCoUk and on Facebook.
