The Saturdays on Monday

Hey all! It’s another Monday already, where are the days going too? Anyway I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I would like to report lots of new and exciting news, but sadly there isn’t much to report. Apparently Mollie is ‘off the market’ now – sorry boys and girls. No news how true (or untrue) the reports are as both camps are being very quiet, but either way that takes long-distance relationships to new levels!

Juliane has kindly e-mailed in more links from the girls recent trip to Germany, you can catch them over at PressePortal and E-Online (Germany) which is a perfect opportunity to use that GCSE you did in German – or if like me you did French, you might struggle to read it!

We will obviously do our best to keep everyone outside the UK up to date with what is going on in your country but its difficult for us to get links from non-english speaking countries. If your country has a Saturdays article we will post it, just e-mail it to us at [email protected] or tweet us @TheSatsCoUk and we will post it 🙂

In the UK, ‘What About Us’ drops to number 13 on its fifth week in the charts. This is possibly their strongest single to date in the UK spending 5 weeks in the Top 20 which is awesome, hopefully their next single will do the same, but there are rumours abound that we might be in for a little wait for this – probably due to the fact that Rochelle will be given birth shortly, only a minor inconvience 😉

Stay safe everyone and have a good Monday! 🙂

Monday Ramblings on The Saturdays

Hey all! It’s Monday and for a fair amount of people, including myself, who work in education or attend school or college its back to work (Yes I know some of you did go back last week too!) but we are all back now!

After the huge success of ‘What About Us’ in the UK – which just to mention is still Top 10 after 4 weeks now – which is awesome for the girls – it’s all gone a little quiet (In the UK ..) but the girls are bored of just getting UK success and last week flew over to Germany to tempt those Europeans with some UK girl group action. Thanks to Juliane for spotting this article about the girls in Germany (It’s in German, obviously!) and if any of our other European visitors find news/videos/articles that we can post please mail them over to us via @TheSatsCoUk or e-mail (see the social tab at the top of the site!)

In other news, Rochelle says that Marvin is enjoying her pregnancy too! Also is Mollie feeling the singleton-life too much as she wants a ‘Fairy Tale’ wedding.

As I spoke about the other week, our lovely Una has started up a blog with Hello Magazine! You can read it on the Hello Site rather than reproducing the entire blog here.

Hopefully the release of a certain song called ‘Gentleman’ won’t affect the girls rumoured next single of the similar name (they do sound rather different tho!) but more news as we get it on that front.

Also here’s an Interview that the girls did with Capital FM (East Midlands) a few days ago:

Fusion Festival

fusion-festival-birmingham-logo-2

Our girls have been added to a new summer festival taking place over the weekend of August 31st-September 1st at Cofton Park, Birmingham.

Our girls are set to perform on the Sunday – 1st September – which is due to be headlined by Ne-Yo. Other acts on the Sunday include The Wanted, Conor Maynard, Wretch 32 and James Arthur. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am, costing between £35-£55 for a day ticket and £90-95 for a weekend ticket to take in both days.

Also our own Una has become a online blogger for Hello Magazine, of which her first blog will be online this Friday 🙂

The girls finally fly over to mainland Europe today, to the traditional stop of Germany. Hopefully the girls can make a name for theirselves in Germany and then (usually) that success flows over the borders to other places such as Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy etc. then they will become a known name in Europe, so *fingers crossed* any new UK Tour will become a fully-fledged European one! 🙂

We will bring you all the updates from across Europe as we find it, but if you live in Germany and notice we miss something please send it over to us via e-mail ([email protected]) or via our twitter @TheSatsCoUk and we will post it on the site 🙂

Notorious – Germany release and more …

Taken from the same DigitalSpy Interview as below, but I thought I’d bring this to the attention of our European fans …..

There is often an expectation that UK acts will try and crack the States – do you have any plans to release an album out there?

Frankie: “We still want to crack the UK even more first. We are going to start going Germany this year, so we’ll probably try out Europe first. America is that bigger step and I don’t think we really want to rush away from Britain just yet. We’ll kind of get there, when we get there.”

What are you releasing in Germany?
Una: We’re releasing ‘Notorious’ there – they don’t want to listen to our old stuff and we want to keep moving forward with the new material. ‘Notorious’ is going to be released simultaneously there as it is here.”
Frankie: “It’s going to go out all around Europe.”
Rochelle: “And that’s nice for us as well because it means we don’t to back and put those tights on again!”

The Saturdays eye Europe

As expected the girls are going to attempt to break into markets across the world. Starting up in Germany as per their recent visit before the Headlines Tour started.

Early news suggests that the lead single will be Higher – due to be released in April – and followed by a album release in the Summer.

I would expect any European release album to be the new UK album with certain songs from their previous UK albums on, so Higher, Ego etc.

Hopefully the news of them hitting Germany will filter around countries nearby such as Holland, France, Spain etc. and the group can start taking on Europe as well as the UK.

More information as we get it 🙂

Edit: Seems to be a lot of scaremongering going on over this item. I’m not reporting this as fact or anything like that, its purely what we’ve heard along the grapevine so to speak. As you are well aware release dates get changed constantly, plans get changed etc. etc.

The group will prioritise the UK over Germany at present anyway, so any new UK single – which could also be due in April/May – will obviously be ahead of any Germany promo.
