According to The Sun, Mollie has signed a record deal with Island Music and will be releasing her debut solo single in 2016:
The Sun have claimed to have spoken to Mollie about it, quoting Mollie as saying:
“Signing with Island Records is so exciting, as it’s such a creative label with so much history. I’ve had some brilliant meetings with the label and we’re all on the same page about musical direction. I’m now in the studio recording. I’ve got lots of ideas for what I want to achieve. My first solo single will be out next year and I’m already looking forward to what 2016 has in store.”
The newspaper also claim that Una is in talks about her own solo music deal. All this after Vanessa dropped her first solo song a few weeks ago, seemingly the future of The Saturdays is as doubtful as ever.
Our very own Mollie appears in this weeks Notion magazine. She chats about life with David Gandy and how he does a lot of the cooking!
She also mentions The Saturdays – remember them – and although its hardly the most negative of news, it doesn’t spin too much positive vibes either …
‘I’d be lying if I said I was ready for the band to end,’ she tells Notion. ‘We’ll get back in the studio at some point. I’d really like us all to do another tour together.’
The chart-topper admits though that she’d like to follow in Rochelle’s footsteps and try something different, admitting that she wouldn’t rule out a spot on The X Factor judging panel.
‘I’d love to be one of those panellists on those shows. I have a lot of opinions about everyone who’s out there,’ she points out, adding that she counts current X Factor judge and former girl-bander Cheryl Fernandez-Versini as one of her biggest inspirations. ‘She’s done so well to transition from Girls Aloud, she’s the ultimate glamorous goddess,’ Mollie gushes.
Hi all,
Again sorry for the lack of updates recently, to recap on everything will probably take me months so I’m going to recap (very briefly) here, if I missed anything then I’m sorry but normal service resumes from this day forward!
In our absence (not too surprisingly) the future of the group hasn’t been confirmed, but noises are being made:
Una has spoken about how she can’t wait to release her solo music. “I’ve always been a singer songwriter and I have been doing a good bit of writing lately,” she said.
The TV star is working on her own “country pop” songs that will be distinctively different from the dance tunes of The Saturdays. “I have always wanted to do my own original music, that’s the dream. My own style would probably be more country pop, sort of acoustic, a bit different to The Saturdays,”
The same article makes (another) reference that any group music won’t be happening until at least 2016.
Mollie, despite a whole bunch of rumours, has spoken to the metro saying that she has NO plans to go solo, but is concentrating on Fashion! The article also again confirms it will be 2016 before we get any more group music.
‘Next year we will be going into the studio so watch this space,’ she teased. Adding: ‘We each love having our own separate projects on the side of the band – at the moment my focus is fashion.’
I know I’ve missed a ton of stuff, but rather than playing total catchup, I will start fresh from this point. Expect a gallery update in the near future, along with various other tweaks to the site now that we’ve moved to our new hosting and a seemingly quieter year ahead!
Mollie is involved in the promotion of the new Pink & Black Magnums, just in time for this warm weather in the UK (and the snow forecast for next week …!)
Mollie King embraced her girly side by donning a playful pink dress to attend the Magnum Pink & Black launch party at The Institute Of Contemporary Art in London on Wednesday night.
The star, who is dating male model David Gandy, might look like she doesn’t need to watch her weight, but admits she gets insecure about her body just like everyone else.
While Mollie isn’t a massive fan of exercising, she says she ups her workout regime as soon as Spring arrives.
‘I have a moment like anyone else when the sun comes out and you think you have to be in a bikini in a couple of weeks’, Mollie told MailOnline in an exclusive interview.
‘I think I’d better get down the gym and so some squats and some sit-ups.
‘I need a trainer to get me focused as normally I am on my own, and instead of working out, I’m just sitting there on my phone rather than doing any exercise.’
Those holding out for new music, you are going to have to wait a while. According to Mollie in an article in today’s Irish Independent, everyone is doing their own things in 2015 – which we knew anyway – and there will be no new music from the girls until at least 2016 …
Mollie is quoted as saying (The Saturdays will…) “be recording another album after Christmas so we are doing our own things this year.”
Una has said much the same to fans today in Ireland too.
On 10 Feb 2015, a host of famous faces hit the red carpet for The BHF Roll out the Red Ball. Hosted by the lovely Mollie King which raised over £150,000 for the charity- amazing!!
Mollie said: “I’m honoured to be hosting the Roll out the Red Ball in aid of the British Heart Foundation. It is such a fantastic charity which is very close to my heart. My grandfather sadly died of heart disease.
“The BHF has already made vital discoveries in the prevention and treatment of heart and circulatory conditions but there is still so much work to be done.
“Guests attending the ball will be raising funds which will go directly into life saving heart research.”
Here’s a video of Mollie talking about her grandparents and why it’s such a good charity close to her heart.
More info about the ball can be found on The BHF Website https://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising/roll-out-the-red-ball
With all of that said why not dig deep and donate £1 to Mollie’s fundraiser and feel like you’ve done a good deed every £1 makes a difference for a charity so close to Mollie’s heart and Rosie’s (for more info about why speak to her directly). Mollie appreciates her books and fundraisers so much so know that everything you donate will be appreciated.
Firstly HUGE thanks to the early donators to this year’s charity for Mollie’s Birthday Book – The British Heart Foundation. In just a few days since we officially launched it, we’ve raised £101! Amazing, it really is! You can find all the details in the post below, or by clicking the banner a the top! Let’s beat last years total of £550!
Talking BHF, Mollie fronts their annual charity auction tomorrow, although you will need a fair bit of spare money to be able to buy anything! If you want to go shopping with Mollie you currently need a cool £3000 – and you know by tomorrow evening it will be at least double that!
Also in the newa The Saturdays company, Day & Night Ventures, accumulated profits rose by £340,371 to £696,159 in the year ending August 31, 2013, according to figures lodged with Britain’s Companies House. I’m no business expert but maybe someone is ..
Rochelle has said she has no plans for an S Club Juniors reunion (boo!) she says, ‘Look, I’m friends with the Juniors and all of that, and it will always be a big part of my life,’ says Rochelle, 25. ‘But I don’t want to go back to being 12 again.’ Talking Rochelle, herself and Marvin have been in the recent Fabulous Magazine talking some saucy things.
Hot off the heels of the 2014 Fundraiser for Mollie – which raised £550 for Dyslexia Action! Plus not to mention the amazing £1000+ for Vanessa’s birthday book we now roll into 2015 and it’s that time again!
Mollie’s birthday book preparations are in full swing, and if you want to get involved (of course you do!) you can find all the details over on the official birthday book twitter @molliekingbday
We are here to bring attention to the new Fundraiser, for 2015 we are looking to raise a silly amount of money for The British Heart Foundation! Mollie is obviously a key ambassador for The BHF and we feel this is a great charity for everyone to donate towards.
The British Heart Foundation are the UK’s number one heart charity and through 50 years of funding cutting edge research we have already made a big difference to people’s lives.
So how do you get involved? It’s REALLY simple. Simply head over to the official JustGiving website and leave your donation online (and your message!) you can also simply grab your telephone and TEXT the word MKBF87 (amount) to 70071 so to donate £10 simply text MKBF87 £10 to 70071.
100% of your donations go to The British Heart Foundation – we, or anyone else involved with Mollie’s birthday book do not benefit in any shape or form from your donations!
