Tour

[Updated] Headlines Live!

@TheSaturdays Headlines Live! finally aired on TV, although it is on Channel4 NEXT Sunday – 5th June at 11.25am (ish) this is the Smash Hits airing from yesterday, we’ll replace it with a higher quality one next week:

Update: I’ve managed to get around the shortcomings of the TiVo box, to bring an updated version of the concert which is the proper size and scale. Apparently VirginMedia (my cable company) are aware of the issue and are trying to fix it with software updates. We will still post a higher quality version when it airs next weekend.

Can you spot yourself in the audience? Tho they’ve seemingly removed the live references to “London” – check the Higher pre-order on iTunes with Notorious to the version aired on this show ….

The songs they played are:
1. Higher
2. Puppet
3. Issues
4. Just Can’t Get Enough
5. Forever Is Over
6. Ego

An additional note is that Notorious has dropped to number 14 on iTunes now (it was as high as number 5 on Tuesday – so thats a bit of a slip – so keep promoting the single everyone!

The Saturdays confirm new UK tour

The Saturdays have announced plans for their next UK tour.

The group, who are currently in the middle of a 17-date sold out jaunt, told fans during their gig at London’s Hammersmith Apollo that they will hit the road again in December this year.

“Tonight we’re very excited to announce some special news,” Frankie Sandford told the audience. “Following the success of the ‘Headlines!’ tour, we’ll be touring the UK again this December.

“We’re going to announce the dates very soon, so make sure to look out for them. Are you all going to come?”

The band also revealed that they are currently working on their next studio album, which is due for release later this year.

You can now find ALL of the 2010 flips on this page, also I have made a new page which isn’t showing in the media yet for the new flips in 2011. They have called this new ‘era’ (surprisingly) ”Behind The Headlines 2011” and you’ll be able to find all of the videos as they come here on this page – but of course we’ll also be adding news items for them weekly 🙂

Saturdays announce February 2011 Tour

According to the Official Mailer that came out today, the girls are set to tour in February 2011. No dates have been announced or the venues – this is happening on Tuesday – but we understand that tickets will be around the ÂŁ25-30 mark, probably depending on the venue, and its likely to be another Theatre tour rather than a full-scale Arena tour.

Everything is expected to be announced on Tuesday, unless some ticketing site spills the beans before then. Keep it here for more.

The Saturdays want to “steal” ideas from the late Michael Jackson.

The British girl band are feeling inspired after watching the ‘This Is It’ DVD – which featured rehearsal footage from the late star’s planned London residency, which was scheduled to begin just weeks after his death from acute Propofol intoxication last June – and want to make their live shows more of a “spectacle”.

Singer Una Healey explained: “We are always dreaming about what we could do as a band. I was watching Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ last night and that would have been one hell of a show. Like MJ showed, it should be all about the spectacle. He can’t use them now, so maybe we can steal his ideas.

“It doesn’t feel like we are anywhere near where we would love to be. Our journey is only halfway through. We’ve already started writing songs for album four and our plan is to make at least five albums.”

The ‘Ego’ hitmakers –made up of Una, Mollie King, Frankie Sandford, Vanessa White and Rochelle Wiseman –also insisted fellow five-piece girl band Girls Aloud are not their rivals and they are in favour of female groups dominating the charts.

Mollie added to the Daily Star newspaper: “As far as I’m concerned, girls are dominating and will for a long time. The guys have still got a long way to go. I’m a very girl power person.

“When Girls Aloud return to the scene – and that will hopefully be soon – then there’ll be absolutely no competition.”

King: ‘The Saturdays will tour next year’

The SaturdaysMollie King has revealed that The Saturdays are planning to tour again next year.

The group completed their first ever headline jaunt in 2009 following the release of their debut album but ruled out going on tour this year.

In a Twitter question and answer session with fans to promote their new single ‘Missing You’, King wrote: “Defo touring next year yes! I CANNOT wait to see you all again!!!!! wahooooo! (sic)”

The girlband release their new mini-album Headlines! next week. King admitted that she is still surprised at their success.

“I always hoped and prayed we’d be this successful but i still cant believe it! I’m so so lucky to be here!!!” she said.

King recently told DS that she is excited about performing the new tracks on tour.

“They’re going to be great tracks to perform on tour because they’re all quite ‘big’-sounding,” she said. “It’s like we’ve looked at the last two albums, seen what everyone likes the most and then made similar songs to those.”

‘Missing You’ is currently at number two on the UK iTunes chart.

Saturdays Go Global!… But will there be a tour?

Source: Daily Star

The Saturdays are knocking plans for a 2010 UK arena tour on the head as they will be too busy on world domination.

But festivals are definitely on the agenda for the Lycra-loving fivesome, whose latest album Wordshaker is out now.

Leggy Rochelle Wiseman told me: “We badly want to do a tour, but we’ve got a lot of things to do, so it’s about fitting it in with Asia and Europe.”

“We wanted an arena tour last year but you have to come up in stages. Last year’s small theatre tour was much more personal. We had been supporting other people, so it was refreshing.”

“As much as we love supporting we always worry whether the crowd will like us because they’ve come to see the other person.”

“But we will be doing all the festivals. The first ones were terrifying. Because we’re pop we thought we’d get booed.”

“We went from being frightened to getting the best reaction.”

Despite a mega 2009, there has been no BRITs nomination for The Saturdays, who are promoting the new Into Glamour fragrance from Impulse.

Rochelle, 20, continued: “We were under no illusions. It took Girls Aloud six years.”

The girls will be flying the flag for JLS at next Tuesday’s awards – particularly Rochelle, who has been getting friendly with Marvin Humes, 24.

She added: “Marvin is very sweet but it’s very early on.”
