Prince Andrew a fan of The Saturdays

Exclusive By Jody Thompson, Mirror.co.uk

Thursday and we here at Mirror.co.uk’s Showbiz Towers are thrilled and still somewhat bemused to report that we rubbed shoulders last night with royalty while watching none other than The Saturdays.

HRH Prince Andrew joined us at a swanky party at an amazing bar called Altitude 360 almost 30 floors up on the banks of the Thames in London to watch the gorgeous girl group run through their hits including their current Comic Relief smash Just Can’t Get Enough.

The posh do was to celebrate the inaugural flight of new low-cost airline Air Asia, which touched down yesterday in Luton after setting off for the first time from Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur.

We were told that an aviator himself, the prince thought he’d pop down too because of his interest in airplanes – and we suspect that considering his legendary eye for a pretty lady, the added enticement of The Saturdays playing will have piqued his interest too.

Anyway, we can report that the prince seemed to have a whale of a time even though he was only sipping plain water – no ice – rather than the free booze on offer and was looking very svelte, which might explain why we didn’t seem him partake of any of the delicious canapes either.

The Saturdays meanwhile revealed that Air Asia were helped them crack the continent by flying them out for their first ever Far East tour next month.

The girls also told us that they couldn’t wait to embark on their debut UK tour too.

Frankie told us: “We’re really excited. We start on the 5th of June and it ends on the 27th. We’re going to have a party, we want everyone in the audience to join in. We just love being up close and personal with our fans.”

Rochelle added: “It’s our first tour, so our hearts are really in it. We’re even going to do an acoustic set in the middle!”

We wonder if Prince Andrew will be after a repeat performance with the ladies? While he makes up which date to book the royal box however, we can recommend he checks out the rest of the showbiz goss that’s ruling our world today. It’s certainly fit for a prince…

By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter

Flo Rida has revealed that he is keen to befriend The Saturdays following their recent chart battle.

The American rapper’s latest single ‘Right Round’ stopped the girlband from topping the chart with their Comic Relief song ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ earlier this month.

Speaking to the Daily Star about his success, the hip-hop artist explained: “It feels amazing for ‘Right Round’ to be number one in the US and UK.

“You always hope when you’re making music that it will connect with people in places as far apart as Australia and Japan. I feel blessed.”

He added: “The Saturdays seem pretty cool and are very cute. Frankie [Sandford] and Rochelle [Wiseman] are my favourites but they’re all beautiful girls. So it does feel bad to have kept them off the top spot – especially as they’re from here.

“I’m hoping to buy them all a drink to show them there are no hard feelings.”

The Saturdays recently vowed to reach the top spot with their next single.

“Chasing Lights” Lyrics

“Chasing Lights”
Go on go on go on (4x)

I’ve been doing this my way
your way, our way
can’t make it work
when all i have is not enough

i’ve been doing all i can
my plan, your plan
and all i get is hurt
This game we’re playing has to stop

I got you stuck in my head
And all you do is breaking me
I can’t continue taking this
I tried my best to understand
but I cannot make sense of you
I got to take a stand and baby

I don’t wanna waste another day
I don’t wanna live my life this way
I’m tired, I just wanna lie back down
And..

I don’t wanna waste another night
I don’t wanna keep on chasing lights
so go on go on go on
go on go on go on
bye bye…

I remember I met you
let you get your way in everything
you took complete control of me
I remember you lying, crying, trying to get away with it
But now I know cause now I see

I believed all that you said
I never questioned any nights
I never opened up my eyes
All your words got me misled
Now I’m standing
I’m alive
I never hurt you by my side.

I don’t wanna waste another day
I don’t wanna live my life this way
I’m tired, I just wanna lie back down
And..

I don’t wanna waste another night
I don’t wanna keep on chasing lights
so go on go on go on
go on go on go on
bye bye…
bye byeee oohhh

I’ve been doing this my way
your way, our way
it doesn’t work
When all I have is not enough
I’ve been all I can
my plan, your plan
and all I get is hurt

I don’t wanna waste another day
I don’t wanna live my life this way
I’m tired, I just wanna lie back down
And..

I don’t wanna waste another night
I don’t wanna keep on chasing lights
so go on go on go on
go on go on go on
bye bye…
bye byeee oohhh

bye bye.

“Up” iTunes Report – Day4

Sorry in advance for the lack of updates, but let’s get to the important information:

The Saturdays currently are in the top5 chart positioning on the Official UK Singles Chart mid-weeks. This is brilliant! The war is not over, keep supporting our Saturdays! I’ve yet to be gifted the single myself, lol.

“Up” is currently standing at #2 on  the iTunes UK Pop Chart and Overall Chart! Not only that, but the girls are charting top 10 also on iTunes Ireland, where they stand at #7 so far in the game! Another round of congrats to the girls and all of you out there!

And lastly, “Up” has been A-listed on Radio1!!

C’mon Team Saturdays, we can get them to #1 on iTunes and hopefully top3 on the official charts! Request on the radio, request on the tele, send e-mail promoting the girls to friends, gift “Up” on iTunes, and buy the physical singles. We are so close to the top, remember, “…Up is where we go from here!”

“Up” iTunes Report – Day1

After a whole day on iTunes, the girls have been able to catapult into the top20 at #15 on the main charts and #8 on the pop chart! Congrats to the girls and the fans, awesome job!

In the meantime, “If this is Love” manages to hold onto the #67 spot on the main charts and #23 on the pop chart! Which by the way, “If this is Love” climbed 14 places to #76 on it’s 11th week on the Official UK Singles Chart this week. Good times indeed!

Now for you fans out there worried if this is a good start or not for “Up”, let’s go back in time and you’ll find that after a full day of charting, “If this is Love” was located in the top 30 at #24. So there is definitely improvement there, again great job to the fans and of course the girls themselves for putting out such an ace single!

Check back later where I’ll make an update after Day2 and also a reminder that the physical copy is available finally!
