The Saturdays hit Guy Ritchie’s Mayfair pub for a girls’ night out

Source: Dailymail

Una HealyThe Saturdays must have heard about the star-studded crowd Guy Ritchie’s Mayfair pub drew in on Tuesday because the following night they showed up to see what all the fuss was about.

Frankie Sandford, Mollie King, Una Healy and Rochelle Wiseman hit London’s West End last night to enjoy a midweek drink and dinner at The Punch Bowl.

The previous night JLS, Jade Ewan, Professor Green, Candy McCullock and Ingrid Tarrant had all popped into the boozer coincidentally, so the girlband were quick to follow.

Mollie King, 23, took her boyfriend Andy Brown along on the girls’ night out but the other ladies decided to go solo.

A very tanned and blonde Frankie, 21, dressed down in blue jeans and a nude-coloured zip up top, along with Una, 28, who opted for acid wash skinny jeans.

Molly stepped out in green tight cargo trousers alongside Rochelle, 21, who wore a little black dress and tights.

But their fifth band mate Vanessa White, 20, was no where to be seen and perhaps wanted a night out of the spotlight.

After their night out, Mollie updated her Twitter profile and posted: ‘Had dinner with The Saturdays and about a million boys – Tinne Tempah, Jordan Jay Blue, Simon Webb & the legend Ne-Yo Compound! Can’t believe it.’

The girls had performed at G-A-Y in London over the weekend and are currently preparing for their Headlines tour which will kick off in early 2011.

It could be The Saturdays’ lucky day. Top US hitmaker Ne-Yo wants to help them take America by storm.

The man behind Beyonce, Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson’s chart-toppers tracked them down for an intimate business dinner in the Punchbowl pub in London last night, along with Tinie Tempah and Simon Webbe.

We’re told: “Ne-Yo reckons The Sats are the next Spice Girls. They’re going to talk again in a few weeks.”

Next time, ladies, make sure he takes you out – we ran into him at Mo*vida with a bath-tubsized ice cooler full of bubbly. That’s our kind of party.

Frankie Sandford planning LA move

The Saturdays star Frankie Sandford thinks she will live in Los Angeles one day.

Frankie Sandford wants to move to Los Angeles.

The Saturdays singer travelled to the Californian city with her bandmates – Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Mollie King and Vanessa White – to shoot their new video ‘Higher’ and fell in love with the way of life in the coastal city.

She explained: ‘I love Los Angeles – that’s one of my favourite places to go. I’ve never been there for a proper holiday, but I’ve always thought that one day I’d like to live there.

‘The shopping is amazing, there are great cities nearby, and I just really like the feel of the place.’

And Frankie – who is currently dating McFly singer Dougie Poynter – may not be the only Saturdays star to head Stateside in the future, as Mollie has also revealed she is a big fan of New York.

She said: ‘I went to New York a few months ago with my boyfriend. I love cities and I love shopping, it’s just so inspiring out there. I really love it, especially Times Square.’

The Saturdays recreate The Beatles’ famous zebra crossing moves in sexy new video Higher

Striding along: The Saturdays stroll along a zebra crossing in 'New York' for their new video HigherThe Beatles were one of the most successful groups in history, so it’s no surprise that modern bands to their best to follow in their footsteps.

And now it’s The Saturdays turn, as the girl band decided to recreate The Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover in the video for their new single Higher.

The girls – Frankie Sandford, Mollie King, Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman and Vanessa White – are seen walking across a zebra crossing in New York, just as the Beatles did in London for their now infamous shot.

While The Saturdays appear to be in New York in the Higher video, they actually flew to Los Angeles to shoot the footage on a film set at Fox Studios.

The girls were seen on the set of the video in the last episode of their ITV2 show The Saturdays: 24/7, and admitted they were loving the novelty of shooting the video in America.

Mollie said: ‘We’re having so much fun in New York. Though actually it’s Los Angeles. We’re at Fox Studios which is so cool because Britney Spears has been here – that’s all that matters! And now we are!

‘There’s a yellow taxi and a school bus, it’s like New York so I feel like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City.’

Higher, the ninth single from The Saturdays, also features Flo Rida, the rapper who has twice beaten the girls to the coveted number one position.

Now the group are hoping that a collaboration with the singer will help them reach the top of the charts.

On their official Twitter page, The Saturdays wrote: ‘Thanks for the lovely #Higher comments, so glad you love it as much as we do! The version with @official_flo will be out soon, stay tuned…’

The Saturdays Team Up With Roll Deep

The two groups are to make grime-pop together…

Pop band The Saturdays are apparently going to be working with grime outfit, Roll Deep.

Roll Deep have had two number ones this year with Good Times and Green Light and they’re hoping for their third when they team up with the chart-topping girl group.

Wiley told RWD Magazine: “Roll Deep went with the two number ones, we’ve just put the vocals on the third, our producer Danny Weed made it again and I think we’re getting The Saturdays to sing the chorus, so we want to try and get that one hitting the top five in the charts again.

“Then we’ll get ready for the album.”

Digitalspy Review: ”Headlines!”

“I’m doing nothing / ‘Cause then at least I’m doing nothing wrong.” A lyric which evidently doesn’t describe The Saturdays’ work ethic. Two albums, six top ten singles, their own TV show, book, jewellery line… it’s all go for Una and co. Headlines! arrives just ten months after the group’s second album, Wordshaker, failed to do the business sales-wise, despite peaking at a very respectable number nine on the charts. Abandoning their sophomore set, the ladies have instead opted to release this “mini-album” featuring tracks that they couldn’t bear to hang onto for their next full-length long-player. Was it worth the effort? Hell yes!

Sitting next to Wordshaker singles ‘Ego’ and ‘Forever Is Over’ is the eight-track set’s own trailer track, ‘Missing You’. It’s hard to knock a ballad with a dance routine and, after a few spins, its chorus implants itself in your brain no matter how much you claim to dislike it at first. However, as enjoyable as ‘Missing You’ is, after hearing several of the other newbies here it’s tough not to wonder, ‘Just who chooses this group’s lead singles?’

So, what should have launched Headlines!? Well, that would be the group’s recently confirmed next single. Move over ‘Up’, shift along ‘Ego’, for there’s a new Sats classic in town. The synth-laden ‘Higher’ has become an instant fan fave following recent live performances and, thanks to its infectious chorus and super-sassy lyrics, it’s not hard to see why. Una Healy’s middle 8 isn’t quite as thrilling on record as it is on stage, but don’t let the ill-advised use of Auto-Tune spoil this moment of close-to pop perfection.

Also nestling among the new tracks is ‘Died In Your Eyes’, originally recorded by US pop upstart Kristinia DeBarge. Though few are likely to realise that it’s a cover – poor Kristinia! – it’s a shame that one of Headlines!‘ five new songs turns out to be second-hand. That said, it’s still a decent Tedderish pop ballad with lyrics that prove The Saturdays can “do” vulnerable when they want to.
