Sats In The City

Hello from a snowy London, well I believe it’s snowing everywhere, and its very bad in South Wales, so take care!

Yesterday our favourite girls took on the mighty Big Apple – yes New York City – where they performed a sell out concert at the Highline Ballroom – and met fans at the NBC Store, plus also paid MTV a visit cos well why not?

I’ve added a few pictures of the girls performance and NBC signing below for you to view, we will no doubt have them in lovely HQ to view in the gallery soon.

The girls also popped into MTV and spoke about the Destiny Child’s reunion:

And, that notion has U.K. girl group The Saturdays quite hyped. So, how stoked are they for the DC girls to get back together? “I’m so excited. I’ve heard a tiny little clip and I love it. I’m hoping it’s not just for one single, which I heard it is,” Saturdays member Rochelle Humes told MTV News on Wednesday when they stopped by the newsroom ahead of the Sunday premiere of their E! reality show, “Chasing The Saturdays,” on January 20.

Gotta laugh, seems the girls song with Rodney Jerkins will feature the trademark ‘darkchild’ in the song (If you don’t know what I mean listen to Say My Name by Destiny’s Child, or Telephone (nearer the end) by GaGa/Beyonce)

What makes the DC news even more exhilarating is the fact that the ladies of the Saturdays are only one degree of separation away from knowing Queen B, Michelle and Kelly. “And it’s really cool because we actually worked with Rodney Jerkins on a track recently,” Una Healy revealed. “And I always remember in ‘Say My Name’ that Darkchild [shout out]. We actually got him to go in and put it down. He says, ‘I’m not sure if I’ll keep it in or not,’ and we’re like ‘Oh gosh!’ cause I remember growing up listening to that song.”

Today Show – Interview & Performance

Yesterday the girls appeared on NBC’s Today Show to promote theirselves, What About Us and of course Chasing The Saturdays! I’ve not come across any nice HD versions of the interview and performance yet so I’ve embedded the official videos from NBC for the time being, they play for me in the UK so I assume they are viewable everywhere. If they aren’t give me a message on @TheSatsCoUk and I’ll fix that.

Firstly the girls performed ‘What About Us’ for the first time on TV last night on Jay Leno. The video will be on the site shortly when I get my HD copy. If you rummage around youtube and the like you will probably find it now, but our copy is coming soon, and hopefully in 1080i HD 🙂 Keep an eye on our Twitter @TheSatsCoUk for when its ready.

We also have the breaking news this morning that Una is a slob! Una has been speaking to WeLovePop (check out some pictures below)

”Now I’m a mum, when I’m at home I have no make up on, sick everywhere and I dress like a slob – it’s just tracksuit bottoms, hoodies and I wear my hair on top of my head. It’s totally different to when I’m at work and getting glammed up by a team of people.”

Mollie has given five suitcases, no not a typo, suitcases of clothes for the Hurricane Sandy victims. Again talking to WeLovePop, Mollie said:

“Everyone took about three or four cases and I took five. I got a huge fine. I gave everything I didn’t wear to the Hurricane Sandy appeal in New York, which meant I could fill the empty cases with new stuff on my return! Everyone wins!”

I’ve added some pictures below of the girls performing at the Golden Globes party and from WeLovePop magazine, we will no doubt have some HQs in the gallery soon 🙂

News, news and more!

Firstly, the hot new video ‘What About Us’ premiered this morning, if you haven’t seen it then, well why not? Check the video out here and leave us your thoughts in our poll!

First up it seems the girls new US release will be called …. ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ its currently up for pre-order on Amazon US for $9.51 and an import is available on Amazon UK for £9.38. US Fans need to jump on this release and show your support. 😀

Frankie was ‘moved to tears’ during the filming of Chasing The Saturdays, as being reported by OK Magazine;

In the debut episode, Sandford, who checked into a clinic in 2011 to treat depression, is seen crying alone in her bedroom – and she admitted she was struggling to deal with the big move from her native U.K.

She says, “I’m hoping I am strong enough to get over it. I felt really homesick. I am such a baby – when I walked in it felt empty.”

Also there is a lot of fuss over nothing about ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ being subtitled in the US so that Americans can understand their accents, US visitors can correct me if I am wrong but I believe that other US shows on E! are also subtitled? Either way ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ premieres on 20th January!

News keeps coming! New EP!

It’s like a quick fire round this, the news keeps coming and coming!

N.B. Those looking for the interview yesterday of Chelsea Lately, it’s coming to this site very soon!

Firstly People.com have done a preview of ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ on their website which is pretty awesome. They’ve also got a video preview which is also exciting!

Also news this morning is out that the girls are going to release a mini-EP in the US. The 5 track EP is due out on the 29th January and includes the new single ‘What About Us’ alongside 4 ‘classic’ songs. This is to serve as an introduction of the group to the US with a full album due out later this year!

In other news the British Heart Foundation have put more information up, remember to donate £2 and ‘Rock Up In Red’ check out Mollie in the video below.

Hello America!

TheSatsCoUk-081013-11

Yesterday our girls officially introduced theirselves to the US media with a press-conference for their new show ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ which premieres on E! in just 12 days!

Here’s a blogs take on the events and the press release for the forthcoming show:

The all-girl, five-member band is regular tabloid fodder overseas for their chart-topping hits, high-profile romances, and fashion and business smarts. E! cameras follow their infectious personalities and crazy schedules as they navigate Hollywood and the American music industry in the new reality series Chasing The Saturdays, airing Sundays beginning Jan. 20 on E!.

Their story began last summer, when The Saturdays — Mollie King (25), Frankie Sandford (23), Vanessa White (23), Una Healy (31) and Rochelle Humes (23) — headed to Los Angeles to work with Mercury Records and famed producer Rodney Jerkins (of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Spice Girls fame) on their debut U.S. album and promoting their new single “What About Us.”

Just a week after her highly publicized wedding to fellow musician and JLS member Marvin Humes, Rochelle Humes packed her bags and joined her BFFs on their three-month stay in Los Angeles. “We were excited to have someone document our trip because we only get the chance to try and crack America once,” Humes says.

The girls lived in an apartment block, where each girl had their own suite that connected to a communal area. “On the show you get to see all of that and our personal lives as well,” Humes shares. “There’s never an average day. We could be doing a photo shoot one day and the next day we’ve got the studio and then the next day we’ve got a show and then the next day we’re testing perfume because we are about to release a fragrance.”

Being famous, although not known in America, turned out to be somewhat of an awkward experience for the group.

“There are a lot of English paps [paparazzi] in America — they would know who we are, and they tend to photograph us because they know the pictures will sell back home. It’s a little awkward when someone will walk past and be like, ‘Who are these girls?’ It’s just really embarrassing. And they are like, ‘Who are you? Why are they taking pictures of you?’ And you would have to explain every time. Sometimes I would just pretend — ‘I’m not sure why. I’m from London; I don’t know either.’”

The Saturdays are hoping they took care of that issue when their series and their new single debut this month in America.

Also I forgot to mention yesterday the girls are set to perform at the Golden Globes After Party next weekend, they will be performing a 30min set for the party goers! I’ve added some pictures below of the girls out and about in LA yesterday.
