The Saturdays’ New Direction

British girl band The Saturdays have chosen to go for a new direction with their music, as they don’t want to ”bore” their fans.

The Saturdays don’t want to “bore people” with their music.

The ‘Ego’ hitmakers admit their forthcoming new album ‘Headlines’ will be a slight departure from the music they are best known for, but hope it will win them some new fans.

Singer Una Healy told BANG Showbiz: “We don’t want to always do the same thing again and bore people.

“We want to grow from that. We do need to appeal to not just a certain type of fan but bring in new fans as well. Our loyal fans will always love ‘Ego’ and ‘Up’ and so we want something that won’t exclude them but get to a wider audience too.”

In addition to their work as singers, the band – made up of Una, Frankie Sandford, Rochelle Wiseman, Vanessa White and Mollie King – often get other offers, but Frankie says they want to focus on their music at the moment.

She said: “Hollywood or other projects isn’t something that we are like, ‘Oh we want to do that next year.’ If the opportunity arises I don’t think anyone would say no but we are concentrating on this.

“We never know what’s going to happen, you know? We’ve got so much more to do. A lot of stuff does come our way but we tend to say, ‘Quality, not quantity.’ ”

The Saturdays Make a Case for Curls

the saturdays hairstyles

Just sitting here working on my straight vs texture piece, when this picture of the Saturdays backstage at the Midlands Music Festival appeared. I think it’s clear to see which side of the fence they’re on – they must have an army of stylists poised with curling tongs at all times!

It’s becoming increasingly apparent to me that even though the catwalk is having a love affair with straight, it’s going to take a world for the trend to catch on in the wider world…
