Today we reach our 9th Birthday ..

Cakes all around! The Saturdays celebrate TheSatsCoUK 9th birthday in style .. with tea and cakes!

Yes, I know, it’s a website, how can it have a birthday? Well really it can’t, but 7th April 2017 is the 9th year, lets say anniversary, of The Saturdays Fansite.

I know I post these every year, and every year it’s pretty much the same, but although updates are a lot less, and what is actually going on is a lot less, we have been around serving The Saturdays (or solo) related tidbits for 9 years. Some of you reading this have probably been coming here for 9 years, others might have just stumbled across this page today whilst searching for The Saturdays, or one of it’s members and what they might or might not be doing recently. Either way thank you for visiting, without the visitors the website would be nothing!

As always a huge thanks to everyone who invested time in this site throughout the years, no matter how large or small the involvement, it was a key involvement in creating what the site had become over the years.

Thanks to Mollie, Frankie, Una, Rochelle and Vanessa for being so supportive over the years with the site, which makes all the hard work worth it. Also thanks to Adam, Sarah, Peter and the rest of the team at Fascination who probably thought they had a break from me .. then they go manage Steps!

Hopefully the girls will continue their own solo ventures over the next 12 months so we can reach the big 10! Here’s to the next 12 months!

The news according to us …

TheSatsCoUk-230415-06 Hi all,
Again sorry for the lack of updates recently, to recap on everything will probably take me months so I’m going to recap (very briefly) here, if I missed anything then I’m sorry but normal service resumes from this day forward!

In our absence (not too surprisingly) the future of the group hasn’t been confirmed, but noises are being made:

Una has spoken about how she can’t wait to release her solo music.  “I’ve always been a singer songwriter and I have been doing a good bit of writing lately,” she said.
The TV star is working on her own “country pop” songs that will be distinctively different from the dance tunes of The Saturdays. “I have always wanted to do my own original music, that’s the dream. My own style would probably be more country pop, sort of acoustic, a bit different to The Saturdays,”

The same article makes (another) reference that any group music won’t be happening until at least 2016.

Mollie, despite a whole bunch of rumours, has spoken to the metro saying that she has NO plans to go solo, but is concentrating on Fashion! The article also again confirms it will be 2016 before we get any more group music.
‘Next year we will be going into the studio so watch this space,’ she teased. Adding: ‘We each love having our own separate projects on the side of the band – at the moment my focus is fashion.’

We all know that Rochelle is currently presenting Ninja Warror UK among other things but Vanessa has spoken out saying she wouldn’t mind dipping her toes into presenting too!

I know I’ve missed a ton of stuff, but rather than playing total catchup, I will start fresh from this point. Expect a gallery update in the near future, along with various other tweaks to the site now that we’ve moved to our new hosting and a seemingly quieter year ahead!

The Saturdays Roundup : 9th February 2015

Firstly HUGE thanks to the early donators to this year’s charity for Mollie’s Birthday Book – The British Heart Foundation. In just a few days since we officially launched it, we’ve raised £101! Amazing, it really is! You can find all the details in the post below, or by clicking the banner a the top! Let’s beat last years total of £550!

Talking BHF, Mollie fronts their annual charity auction tomorrow, although you will need a fair bit of spare money to be able to buy anything! If you want to go shopping with Mollie you currently need a cool £3000 – and you know by tomorrow evening it will be at least double that!

Also in the newa The Saturdays company, Day & Night Ventures, accumulated profits rose by £340,371 to £696,159 in the year ending August 31, 2013, according to figures lodged with Britain’s Companies House. I’m no business expert but maybe someone is ..

Rochelle has said she has no plans for an S Club Juniors reunion (boo!) she says, ‘Look, I’m friends with the Juniors and all of that, and it will always be a big part of my life,’ says Rochelle, 25. ‘But I don’t want to go back to being 12 again.’ Talking Rochelle, herself and Marvin have been in the recent Fabulous Magazine talking some saucy things.

Rochelle stuns at the NTAs and more!

Hi TeamSats! Hope all is well 🙂

As we all saw coming (with the removal of the mailers and flips) the start of 2015 hasn’t been the most exciting for the group. What the actual future holds for the group is anyone’s guess right now, answers to us @TheSatsCoUk if you know anything – we sure don’t!

Either way the girls continue prepping their own solo projects, Mollie recently completed her photoshoot for the upcoming Spring/Summer range for Oasis. Rochelle continues her own range for Very plus appeared at the NTAs last night, looking stunning in her custom dress (see below!), obviously Una is on The Voice of Ireland – and expecting a little boy in a matter of weeks! Plus obviously Frankie is expecting and Vanessa is also prepping something it seems.

I just hope that you all understand that I’m not going to post news for the sake of news, the lesser news updates you can keep up-to-date by following us on Twitter and Facebook.

Hopefully something will happen sooner rather than later, we are all crossing everything!

New album recording in January? Plus other news.

What has been going on recently with The Saturdays? Well musically not much (sadly), the supposedly Christmas release of a new single and album – well hasn’t passed us yet – but it is 8th December so we presume that isn’t happening now despite the girls teasing everyone over twitter about being in the recording studio. News has emerged today that Rochelle is quoted as saying that the girls are hitting the studio in January to record their 6th album and that they need to fit it in between people giving birth! Obviously Frankie is on the strictly tour (January-February 2015) and Una is on the live shows for The Voice of Ireland which are in May. We might be waiting for a while ..

Frankie hung up her Strictly shoes last night to attend a special gala performance of Edward Scissorhands at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London. A few pictures I’ve added below.

Frankie has also been talking about her depression, and how she’s managed to control it. It’s a long article to reproduce here so please read it over at the DailyMail website.

To make us all feel even better, Rochelle confirms that herself and Marvin are heading to the Maldives for Christmas – nice! Ben Foden seems to have caught the acting bug, and is set to appear on Hollyoaks!

To finish this round up, we leave you with the thought that Mollie apparently wants to have lots of children!

News Roundup: 10th November

thesatsgetthelook

Right, sorry. It’s been a tad quiet around here recently, not too much has been going on, but I have missed some stuff so will bring everything up to speed, or try to at least!

As per the previous post, Frankie moves onto next weeks Strictly from Blackpool, despite being upset with her dance. You can catch the video below (and the Introduction with the rest of the girls!)

Rochelle talks about Frankie on Strictly and how she doesn’t plan to go on there, and her upcoming role hosting Children In Need this coming Friday with the Express.

Frankie talks up having more children, “It’s definitely something we want to do although right this moment would not be a good time obviously. Lately the thought of three seems really sweet.”

Frankie is also supporting Save The Children’s Christmas 2014 campaign, wear your Christmas Jumper to work on Friday 12th December! More details at Save The Children.

Rochelle’s new Very range seems to be out soon (or now?) and herself and Marvin are also fronting a Pandora appeal too!

I’ve probably missed bits and pieces, but that seems to be the last week summed up. As for new music, rumours are abound that Rochelle is leading a new single from LuvBug in the new year, which might or might not lead onto something more solo for her. Not had anything confirmed to us, just reading what is going around online.

Una on Reebok, Rochelle on AOL

Our Rochelle and Tess Daly will host a new show about motherhood for AOL UK. Being Mum will see the duo meeting either a celebrity or a mother with a surprising story to discuss what being a mum is really like.

“Both Tess and I are really excited to present Being Mum,” Humes said. “As busy mothers ourselves, we understand what it takes to be a mum whilst balancing successful careers, friendships and relationships. And in our series, we’ll go behind the scenes with a range of incredible mothers, with some faces you know and some you won’t, but all with amazing stories to tell about being a modern day mother.”

The shows are expected to air on AOL next year.

Una has been talking about her role on The Voice of Ireland and a rivalry with Rachel Stevens

“I don’t think we’ll come to blows. I come from The Saturdays where we’re more like sisters and I already feel a bond like that starting to form with Rachel. We’re all about girl power,” Una told The Herald.

“I think we both got really into it from really early doors and the first guy who auditioned was brilliant and so it got off to a great start and didn’t really fall from there,” she said.

Una is currently pregnant with her second child but insists it won’t get in the way of the show.

“I’m in a really good stage of pregnancy at the moment, I’ve got lots of energy,” she said. “I’m used to long days and the show is filmed in stints as well. There’s the blind auditions and then there’s nothing again until November and then there’s actually nothing until after the baby is born.

“They get a lot of content in these few days, the blind auditions and the battles and we go away for a few days as well. Plus I’m used to working long hours.”

The Daily Mail also have an article on how Una is staying fit during her second pregnancy. I’ve added the pictures below but you can read the entire article on their site.
