Frankie confirmed for 2016 Strictly UK Tour

The Saturdays’ Frankie Bridge is the first celebrity confirmed for the 2016 Strictly Come Dancing UK Tour.

Bridge, a finalist in the 2014 series, was due to appear on this year’s tour but pulled out when she discovered she was pregnant with her second child.

Bridge, 26, said: “I was so disappointed not to be able to perform in this year’s Strictly Tour, as I’d been so looking forward to continuing my Strictly journey. But following the birth of my son in August, I’m thrilled to have been asked to join the 2016 tour.
“It will be great to get my dancing shoes back on and be part of the Strictly family again. Roll on January!”

Bridge was joint runner-up with Simon Webbe to winner Caroline Flack in the 12th series of the competition.
She was partnered with Kevin Clifton, who is currently whirling EastEnders actress Kellie Bright around the dancefloor, but it has not been announced if he will be joining her on the road.
Bridge will join competitors and professional dancers from the present series of Strictly as they attempt to dazzle judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who also directs the tour.

The Great British Bake Off presenter Mel Giedroyc has already been announced as the tour’s new host.
The tour kicks off in Birmingham on January 22 and will play 30 dates across Sheffield Arena, First Direct Arena Leeds, Manchester Arena, Liverpool’s Echo Arena, Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena and The SSE Arena in Wembley before a finale at London’s O2 Arena on Valentine’s Day.

Wildfire … wildfire

We are alive, promise! It’s just silly time, where members are seemingly saying they aren’t going solo, and then 3 hours later are posting pictures from recording studios … magical all this and its not a case of Black Magic (we hope!)

Anyway, here’s a post that celebrates how decent Wildfire actually is …

Still one of the best parts of the tour too!

Win a 2015 Calendar (and more!)

Hey all! Welcome back – I know we never left.

Just a quick post to say I’m back from my tour exploits. Thank you to everyone who popped up and said hi, I felt like a bigger celebrity than the group at times. Was lovely speaking to you all, no matter how long or short it was. It’s really nice to see faces behind the twitter accounts and thanks for all your kind words, it is really appreciated. 🙂 Also thanks to the girls for putting on great shows in Manchester, Birmingham, London and Brighton! If you are off to your first show tonight in Bournemouth of Plymouth tomorrow you are in for a great time that is for sure!

We will slowly be back in full update mood shortly, the tour is almost over – but don’t cry – Frankie (and Strictly Come Dancing) starts THIS FRIDAY! – and we have the small matter of a new album … nothing is ending in The Saturdays world …

To celebrate we will be giving away a BRAND NEW 2015 Calendar, now how exciting is that! Details on that by the end of the week!

Also check out our gallery (I know its not the greatest looking thing!) but I’ve added some recent pictures from the tour and the girls out and about in-between the tour dates!

Why do The Saturdays Tours start in Scotland?

Thursday’s question of the day is ‘Why do The Saturdays always start their tours in Scotland?’

The Scottish Daily Record has the answer!

Rochelle has revealed one of the reasons so many of The Saturdays tours start in Glasgow – the shopping. With the girls again kicking off a national tour in Scotland’s biggest city, the pop princess confessed premium shopping precinct Buchanan Street has become part of her pre-show ritual. And while the Style Mile may very well be an appropriate place for one of the hottest groups around, Rochelle reckons Glasgow has a lot more going for it than just the boutiques.

She said: “I’m loving the fact we’re starting the tour in Glasgow. It’s something we always try and do. It’s a great city and they always love to make a serious noise. The way that they go crazy, you don’t need to ask them twice. We do quite a lot of shopping in Glasgow. It’s part of the pre-show ritual. It’s not supposed to be, but it’s always what ends up happening!”

The Saturdays are hitting Glasgow in support of their greatest hits album, set for release in August. Fans needn’t worry though. The girl band say they’ve far from run their course, with plans to get into the studio later in 2014 for their fifth studio album. Aimed at being a celebration of their six years together, it features 13 top 10 singles, plus three new tracks.

Rochelle explained: “We’re on our 18th single so we thought why not now, we want to make sure it all fits on one CD.

“Making it brought on loads of fond memories, it’s mad when you look back at old videos and stuff.

“Looking back my favourite moment to date was the first number one. We didn’t get it until our 14th single so it was a long time coming, loads of times we were pipped to the post at the last moment.”

But with the birth of their daughter, Alaia-Mai last May, does she find it tough being in the band?

“Not at all, other than the obvious demands on time. We’re lucky that we both understand what comes of the industry – if anything it’s a plus. Having a daughter changed my outlook on everything, she’s my number one. There are a lot of working mothers in the world and I think I just have a slightly different job to everyone else. I’m just lucky I can bring my daughter with me.”

Luckily for Rochelle, Buchanan Street does boast plenty of high-end infant fashion. The Saturdays play Clyde Auditorium Sunday, September 7.

Casio Sheen

Hey all! Again sorry for the lack of updates recently, been at two concerts in the last week (Little Mix, Katy Perry) and are currently posting this update from a hotel in Leeds as I’m working alongside Rosie (@marvelousmollie) on Mollie’s birthday book – so many people have sent in great work so this will keep us busy this weekend!

Casio Sheen & The Saturdays

The Saturdays are the 2014 ambassadors for the Casio Sheen range of watches – which are available to buy now from H. Samuel or via their website

“Bringing The Saturdays on board as ambassadors was a natural choice because they genuinely reflect  the values of the Sheen brand. The way the girls remain effortlessly elegant whilst juggling a pop career  alongside young families and numerous multimedia ventures is both inspirational and accessible. We  know this will resonate strongly with our target audience.” She adds “The ladies market is a huge  growth area for us, and Casio Sheen’s unique combination of fashion-inspired styling and technological excellence is designed to meet the needs of modern women’s lives”. Jennifer Kelly, Senior Product
Marketing Manager, Casio Sheen

“We were thrilled when asked to be the brand ambassador’s for Casio Sheen. The brand is known for  adding elegance and glamour to an outfit and we love dressing up and feeling stylish, so it was just right  for us! The new range has a colourway to suit every outfit, ideal for the girl who loves to accessorize.”
The Saturdays

The Saturdays on Sunrise

Yes, I’m as confused as you are, maybe it’s more down to the First Choice sponsoring than anything else.

This morning – as a shock to most of us – the three members of The Saturdays who are in the UK appeared on Sky News’ Sunrise to talk about their favourite summer song, and obviously to plug the tour. All a little random (in my mind anyway), I didn’t record this, but the video of the girls can be watched via Yahoo – so click on this link and give it a watch.

Remember that the girls are touring in September, details on the right. The Greatest Hits is released in August with a single due out soon before that.

Exams, 30 Days, Rochelle

Morning all!

Firstly a huge good luck to all our visitors sitting exams over the next few weeks. Exam season is well and truly upon us now, from SATS to GCSEs, A-Levels and at Uni too! If you are sitting an exam then we wish you all the very best, we know you can get the results you want! 🙂

On The Saturdays front its all still a little quiet, 30 Days celebrated its 2 year anniversary, two years .. quite amazing to think that the album it was eventually released from only came out 6 or so months ago!

Rochelle was pictured leaving the Paradise Bar with hubby Marvin over the weekend, added a few pictures below.

Mollie was on ‘Tom Daley goes Global’ on ITV on Thursday evening. As I was out all weekend I’ve been unable to edit the show, but I will do so this evening and will pop it up on the site just in case you’ve not seen it yet later this evening.

Una has also confirmed that RTE have commissioned a second series of Una’s Dream Ticket. If you are aged between 8 and 16 and want to live your dream, you can apply to be on the show now! You have until 25th July to enter!

As I posted previously Mollie and Vanessa should be returning from their holiday’s soon (as this weeks, very odd flip said too) so hopefully we will have movement on the first single from the Greatest Hits soon!

Until tomorrow, or later when I post the video, have a great day 🙂

Mollie won’t go solo, tour ideas

Hey all! Hope you all enjoyed the extra day over the MayDay Bank Holiday weekend! I spent most of the afternoon fighting against major train engineering works, but it was all worth it 🙂

We start today with a snippet from Mollie’s Interview with the Sunday Express Magazine which was out on well Sunday!

She told the Sunday Express magazine: ”I think I would have the guts to go it alone.

”But I just love doing it with the girls because, as much as you can call your mum when you get off stage, you can never explain the exact feeling.

”With the girls when you come off, you’re all like, ‘My God! Did you see that?’ And that’s something you’ll never get if you’re up there on your own.”

I bring this up, mainly because there are other articles doing the rounds that Una wouldn’t mind going solo – take what you will with these stories, it seems for any act as soon as a ‘Greatest Hits’ is announced the media goes into overdrive with split, and solo stories.

Those hoping for a London Summer Show, CapitalFM’s Summer Time Ball takes place on Saturday 21st June at London’s Wembley Stadium – announcements about who is there are imminent – they did perform there last year so .. although sadly there reception wasn’t great 🙁

Talking tours, it will be September before you know it – really, I know we need to get summer out the way first – we are wondering what you would like to see from the tour. I tweeted some suggestions the other week, such as maybe an ‘album medley’ from each release, giving us a taste of more than just the singles. Others would love to see a return to an acoustic set similar from the first tour. Tweet us some of your ideas @TheSatsCoUk.
