The news according to us …

TheSatsCoUk-230415-06 Hi all,
Again sorry for the lack of updates recently, to recap on everything will probably take me months so I’m going to recap (very briefly) here, if I missed anything then I’m sorry but normal service resumes from this day forward!

In our absence (not too surprisingly) the future of the group hasn’t been confirmed, but noises are being made:

Una has spoken about how she can’t wait to release her solo music.  “I’ve always been a singer songwriter and I have been doing a good bit of writing lately,” she said.
The TV star is working on her own “country pop” songs that will be distinctively different from the dance tunes of The Saturdays. “I have always wanted to do my own original music, that’s the dream. My own style would probably be more country pop, sort of acoustic, a bit different to The Saturdays,”

The same article makes (another) reference that any group music won’t be happening until at least 2016.

Mollie, despite a whole bunch of rumours, has spoken to the metro saying that she has NO plans to go solo, but is concentrating on Fashion! The article also again confirms it will be 2016 before we get any more group music.
‘Next year we will be going into the studio so watch this space,’ she teased. Adding: ‘We each love having our own separate projects on the side of the band – at the moment my focus is fashion.’

We all know that Rochelle is currently presenting Ninja Warror UK among other things but Vanessa has spoken out saying she wouldn’t mind dipping her toes into presenting too!

I know I’ve missed a ton of stuff, but rather than playing total catchup, I will start fresh from this point. Expect a gallery update in the near future, along with various other tweaks to the site now that we’ve moved to our new hosting and a seemingly quieter year ahead!

Una & Patrick give us Issues!

Hi all,
Just a quick update to say I plan a major update soon, I’m just bogged down with my last year of Uni work, its very project/essay based and its eating up a lot of my time! So bare with me, this site isn’t forgotten about, I just need to get this submitted over the next 48 hours!

Whilst you wait here’s Una and her Voice of Ireland finalist Patrick Donoghue flexing their vocals!

Confirmed: No new music this year

Those holding out for new music, you are going to have to wait a while. According to Mollie in an article in today’s Irish Independent, everyone is doing their own things in 2015 – which we knew anyway – and there will be no new music from the girls until at least 2016 …

Mollie is quoted as saying (The Saturdays will…) “be recording another album after Christmas so we are doing our own things this year.”

Una has said much the same to fans today in Ireland too.

Full Interview with Mollie, including talking about Alfie (of course!) is on the Irish Independent site

Una on Reebok, Rochelle on AOL

Our Rochelle and Tess Daly will host a new show about motherhood for AOL UK. Being Mum will see the duo meeting either a celebrity or a mother with a surprising story to discuss what being a mum is really like.

“Both Tess and I are really excited to present Being Mum,” Humes said. “As busy mothers ourselves, we understand what it takes to be a mum whilst balancing successful careers, friendships and relationships. And in our series, we’ll go behind the scenes with a range of incredible mothers, with some faces you know and some you won’t, but all with amazing stories to tell about being a modern day mother.”

The shows are expected to air on AOL next year.

Una has been talking about her role on The Voice of Ireland and a rivalry with Rachel Stevens

“I don’t think we’ll come to blows. I come from The Saturdays where we’re more like sisters and I already feel a bond like that starting to form with Rachel. We’re all about girl power,” Una told The Herald.

“I think we both got really into it from really early doors and the first guy who auditioned was brilliant and so it got off to a great start and didn’t really fall from there,” she said.

Una is currently pregnant with her second child but insists it won’t get in the way of the show.

“I’m in a really good stage of pregnancy at the moment, I’ve got lots of energy,” she said. “I’m used to long days and the show is filmed in stints as well. There’s the blind auditions and then there’s nothing again until November and then there’s actually nothing until after the baby is born.

“They get a lot of content in these few days, the blind auditions and the battles and we go away for a few days as well. Plus I’m used to working long hours.”

The Daily Mail also have an article on how Una is staying fit during her second pregnancy. I’ve added the pictures below but you can read the entire article on their site.

It’s a boy!

TheSatsCoUk-131014-01

Una has revealed to Hello magazine and she and hubby Ben are expecting a baby boy this time around, plus The Saturdays aren’t splitting up anytime soon …

She told Hello! Magazine: ‘Ben was adamant from the moment we knew we’d conceived again that we were having a boy.

‘I was convinced I was carrying a girl, mainly because this pregnancy is so similar to last time.

‘I was actually a little bit taken aback when we found out we were going to have a son. But now I’m over the moon and can’t wait to meet our little boy.’

She also dismissed rumours The Saturdays are splitting up despite several of the band establishing careers outside the group.

She said: ‘If that was what we wanted, we would be honest about it and say so. ‘We’re always going to be The Saturdays. None of us wants the group to end. So while we’ll go off and do our own things, it will always be in conjunction with what The Saturdays have going on. We’re definitely not splitting up.’

The full interview is in the new issue of Hello! magazine, on sale now.
