Quick news roundup as the press is still full of the girls trip to LA last week.

Many news stories seem to be focusing on the girls comments from last year, about them wanting to do a TV show in the US etc. The girls have been giving hints to what has been up – Gossip Girl anyone? – but it seems everything is rather speculation on behalf of the UK media at present rather than anything concrete. Either way the girls did seemingly have some meetings out there – despite the lots and lots of pictures of the girls in and around LA. We shall await and see what comes about of those meetings, and the day they spent in the dance studio too … notice how Get Ready, Get Set is now the music to the flips too … or are we expecting too much here?

Other news seems to be around Una’s tweet about it being the last weekend with Ben before the baby is due .. can we please remember that the Six Nations is still on-going and that the weekend gone was a rest weekend, so although we all know Una is expecting soon she did say she was expecting around Rochelle’s birthday so we could still be a month away there!

Una is spending time in the studio writing down songs, so it seems that despite a lot of us expecting the group to have a mini-break with Una’s new little girl on the way, we all might be very very wrong!

Oh .. and there is another wedding to talk about this summer too. Marvin spills some beans about the proposal to Rochelle and the plans they have for their wedding to Hello Magazine.

I was on a mini-holiday last week, so I know the poll has expired, expect a new one up very shortly as we match up the other music videos that won the poll and see who can be crowned the favourite music video of visitors to The Saturdays Fansite 😀

@TheSaturdays – minus Una as she cannot fly with her baby bump! – have jetted out to LA for ‘meetings’. They’ve had a couple of these meetings and have been in the studio as well back home in the UK, so the girls are doing all but kicking back and relaxing! Of course we can’t be sure what this trip to LA is for – but presumably if you are going over there (and it’s quite a long flight!) it won’t be for chit-chats. Let’s hope it’ll distract Mollie a bit from her recent break-up, altho I always find she’s such a positive person I’m sure she’ll be just fine with the surroundings of her bandmates 🙂

Frankie Sandford planning LA move

The Saturdays star Frankie Sandford thinks she will live in Los Angeles one day.

Frankie Sandford wants to move to Los Angeles.

The Saturdays singer travelled to the Californian city with her bandmates – Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Mollie King and Vanessa White – to shoot their new video ‘Higher’ and fell in love with the way of life in the coastal city.

She explained: ‘I love Los Angeles – that’s one of my favourite places to go. I’ve never been there for a proper holiday, but I’ve always thought that one day I’d like to live there.

‘The shopping is amazing, there are great cities nearby, and I just really like the feel of the place.’

And Frankie – who is currently dating McFly singer Dougie Poynter – may not be the only Saturdays star to head Stateside in the future, as Mollie has also revealed she is a big fan of New York.

She said: ‘I went to New York a few months ago with my boyfriend. I love cities and I love shopping, it’s just so inspiring out there. I really love it, especially Times Square.’

Band freebies are welcome after big money LA shopping spree, admits Saturdays star Rochelle

Saturdays singer Rochelle Wiseman reckons it’s just as well she and her bandmates get lots of free stuff – because they spent so much on their recent trip to the States.

Rochelle and fellow Sats Mollie, Una, Frankie and Vanessa spent time in LA to film the video for their new single, Higher. But Rochelle admits a crazy shopping spree has left her out of pocket.

She has just moved house with JLS boyfriend Marvin Humes but is struggling for cash to furnish their new pad.

Rochelle told the Razz: “I did a bit of shopping in the US and I bought quite a bit, which was a bit naughty.

“I spent my money on lots of clothes, because when you’re there everything seems cheaper.

“Dollars are like magic money and it doesn’t seem like much is coming out of your account. But when I got home, I realised it took a massive dent out of my account, so I can’t go crazy for while.”

But she added: “We are quite lucky because we get freebies.

“Marvin and I were about to order a washing machine and dryer the other night but then we got an email from our PA, who said a certain brand wanted to give us a moving-in present of one. We thought, ‘how cool – save those pennies’.”

As well as shopping till she dropped, Rochelle also got a new piercing in her right earlobe while in LA.

She said: “It wasn’t sore but I think I’m quite a tough cookie and have a high pain threshold. I’ve already got my belly button pierced.”

Both Rochelle and Marvin will soon be preparing to tour with their respective bands – The Saturdays will play the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow on February 6 – and she revealed they get to perfect their moves together.

Rochelle said: “The two of us do practise dance steps in the bedroom when we have important shows coming up. We practise at home in the room because we have a big enough mirror for it.

“I’m sometimes like a kid coming home from school and I say to him, ‘Want to see what I did at work today?'”

Rochelle also admitted she enjoys having a camera crew follow her around for ITV2 show The Saturday s 24/7, The Saturdays 24/7, though she said the most embarrassing episode was when Frankie caused a stink.

She said: “The biggest cringe moment for me was when Frankie f****d on me.”

She admitted, however, that not everyone in her entourage feels ecstatic about having their every moment captured on telly.
