The Saturdays

This is generic news about The Saturdays.

Happy New Year!

A Happy New Year to all our visitors! We hope 2015 was a wonderful year for you all and that 2016 can bring new adventures and horizons for you all!

Obviously from a The Saturdays viewpoint, I can’t see the group doing anything in the next 12 months – but would be happily proved wrong! In the next 6 months we’ll probably have something solo from Mollie, and Una and no doubt Vanessa will continue to release music too.

Happy New Year!!

Year Review 2015 . The year of … nothing?

Seasons Greetings from The Saturdays Fansite! We hope everyone has a wonderful time over the next week or so and spends lots of quality time with family!

Year Review:

Officially the last performance from The Saturdays (at time of posting) was 54 odd weeks ago, at Liverpool’s Radio City Christmas Live 2014. 2015 promised little on paper, and little did it deliver. Even before the girls last performance there was a lot of noise of solo careers and the like, all of which have barely materialised this year. Yes we’ve had confirmation that Mollie has signed to a major label, Vanessa has released a couple of tracks and Una keeps recording but we all expect all three to do a major push in 2016. Frankie obviously has the Strictly Tour which starts next month which she missed last year, and Rochelle no doubt has more TV lined up even if the future of the X-Factor is in doubt, maybe she’ll replace her own husband on The Voice when that moves to ITV in 2017 … might be awkward!

What does 2016 bring? Well those expecting a group reunion might well be crying into their Christmas dinners in 365 days time. I just cannot see it. Even if Mollie, Vanessa and Una all push their music in 1Q 2016, as Mollie is with a major label, if her album does get released it might still be 6+ months away in the late Spring/Summer of 2016. Una will be silly not to use The Voice of Ireland to help promote her album in Ireland which starts its run in early January for a few months.

There is obviously a very small core fanbase that actually still care about The Saturdays and their music – which in some ways I do understand. You can argue a couple of poor album releases in regards to promotion and the like have hurt the girls commercially and they are slowly being forgotten about with the likes of Little Mix taking and running far away with the girl band crown.

Is a ‘reunion’ on the cards, never say never, but it might be 2017. With rumours of a Spice Girls reunion planned for 2016 they might not want to go up against that and just be lost in that.

Where does that leave me, and this website? I still have no plans to go anywhere, just yet. It’s not like it’s taking up hours of my time anymore, and if the girls did return the times of me spending hours upon hours of recording off the TV are probably gone too, as I sit here and run everything off my laptop these days. We’re not going anywhere and the twitter is still the best place to catch up on breaking news so please follow @TheSatsCoUK for the latest. I mean the girls official site hasn’t been updated for nearly 10 months!

I need to plan what to update, and when. We might just fall back to updates every 7 days or so to say what has happened and post breaking news (if there is any!) as soon as possible. But I will go into that in the new year. I don’t plan to stop, just scale back until one of the girls goes solo properly and actually confirms what The Saturdays are doing.

Until the new year! All the best!

4 Years ago … All Fired Up Tour

thesats_afut_4yearsago

As it’s all still rather quiet … Mollie continues to record, Vanessa churns out different variants of her songs, Una continues to record, whilst Rochelle and Frankie continue with their TV exploits I thought I’d throw us all back to times when we had a group to argue over. 4 years ago today, The Saturdays hit the Liverpool Echo Arena for their All Fired Up Tour, I was in attendance and recorded this video.

So please enjoy this video, and a few others on my channel if you are bored. Or indeed if you are still visiting the site, the demand for the group, and their solo careers has sadly really tapered off over the last few months and I’m not sure how many people truly still care. I get a feeling a lot have wander off to Little Mix these days who continue to add tour date after tour date to their upcoming tour!

Mollie hits the Studio, Vanessa sadly doesn’t want to be our lover

Hi All,

Not too much is really happening, still …

Mollie has been in LA recording, seemingly with Producer J Que Smith. Who you might ask? He’s was part of the production team ‘The Clutch’ and has written/produced songs such as Usher’s ‘Yeah!’ Britney Spear’s ‘Radar’ and ‘Freakshow’, Beyonce’s ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ and Ariana Grande ‘Baby I’ … interesting times ahead.

Vanessa has dropped her new song ‘Don’t Wanna Be Your Lover’ via Wonderland Magazine, continuing down the same vibe as Relationship Goals, its a cool laid-back RnB number that probably wouldn’t be too out of place on a few albums recently released, you can listen to it below!

What The Saturdays Song has influnced you?

We are trying to put together an The Saturdays ultimate poll, every song to pick from, you simply vote for your favourite five.

Songs that might have an effect on your life, give you that certain memory, songs that just simply make you smile, or get up and dance, or even shed a tear. Whatever the reason vote for your favourite five songs and you can also enter our prize draw to win some goodies!

Sounds good? We hope so, so head over to our voting page

Please share the link on social media, facebook etc. The more votes we get, the more accurate the poll is. Sadly as of now we’ve not had enough votes to even make the poll worth publishing so please vote and share!!

September 2015 …

Hey all, for those who are still visiting here in the hope of something magical and new and exciting.

Sorry I’ve been so quiet, but in all honesty there isn’t much to talk about …

  • Vanessa has signed up with new management to manage her solo career
  • Mollie has signed up with new PR, whom we presume are there to help her with her fashion and solo career (that still isn’t happening, is it Mollie? 😉 )
  • Rochelle will now be gracing our TV every weekend for the next 4 months on the Xtra Factor
  • Una has also confirmed she plans to go solo, but the group haven’t split up …
  • Una has been confirmed to be returning to The Voice of Ireland

I think that basically sums up the last 5 weeks. Lots of mumblings about solo projects, but nothing actually being released and unless something happens in short notice, I don’t think anyone is expecting anything to be happening soon either.

As I said we (as the site) aren’t going anywhere, but on the flip side I won’t be updating the site for every tiny bit that the girls do, like taking the dog for a walk etc. All that will be on our twitter, so make sure you follow us on @TheSatsCoUk

Those expecting new music from The Saturdays, I personally wouldn’t expect anything until mid-late 2016 at the going rate as any solo music seemingly won’t be out until the New Year (if we are lucky), and if there is still a pop music market in late 2016, or even demand for Girl Groups then that is anyone’s guess.

Either way chin up, and if anything does happen I’ll sure bring it to you!

If This Is Love – 7 Today

Cover of "If This Is Love".

Well this has been an epic journey, and if you’ve been here since the start than well done to you as well as to us!

On the 27th July 2008 a certain girl group released their debut single ‘If This Is Love’ and yes this site was around then and you can click on our original post here (The image isn’t loading for some reason tho!)

Obviously this was the start of everything new, the website launched 3 months before the single came out anyway and as I said previously if you’ve been here as long as we have been then give yourself a nice pat on the back!

Onwards and upwards … keep strong #TeamSats!

Wildfire … wildfire

We are alive, promise! It’s just silly time, where members are seemingly saying they aren’t going solo, and then 3 hours later are posting pictures from recording studios … magical all this and its not a case of Black Magic (we hope!)

Anyway, here’s a post that celebrates how decent Wildfire actually is …

Still one of the best parts of the tour too!
