Living For The Weekend – Chart Update

This is pretty amazing, although the album is placed twice on the iTunes chart (As of this post the Deluxe album was number 20, and the standard at 53) the girls must have sold/are selling a lot of physical albums. So lets get the album moving UP in the right direction on iTunes too!

The girls perform at G-A-Y

Last night the girls hit the stage at London’s G-A-Y (to celebrate) their upcoming chart topper ‘What About Us’. Rochelle has confirmed that this was her last performance with the girls for a while as she prepares to give birth (so we will let her off!) you can check out a few pictures of the girls performing below, be warned, some aren’t wearing much!

What About Us Chart Update and more!

Update:
OFFICIALLY
we are NUMBER ONE in the midweeks and by a whopping margin of 34,000. What About Us has sold just over 65,000 copies, number one is basically in the bag, the idea now is to push sales past 100,000. So don’t let up, buy those remixes, buy those CDs from the official store, buy from iTunes and Amazon MP3 and LETS DO THIS!

We start with the news that ‘What About Us’ is currently topping the charts in the early sales. Unofficial news claims the girls where over 30,000 copies ahead of Justin Timberlake in the early sales data, now if this is true we should – in theory – have little to worry about. Obviously those who are checking iTunes data will see that Justin is clawing back at their lead (It’s now under 40%) but at this rate it would take Justin another 24-48 hours to overtake them, which would only leave him a couple of days (at the most) to eat into their lead, which if they have a lead of 30,000+ would seem impossible to overturn.

Obviously none of this is confirmed (yet), Radio 1 do their ‘chart update’ this afternoon which should confirm that the girls are currently heading for the Top, but obviously a lot can happen between now and Saturday, so its important that we keep on buying, pick up a remix (or two) or just buy the song again from Amazon, every little helps! All the purchase links are on the right, simply click and buy! More chart information as we get it 🙂 Plus tune into Radio 1 from 4pm (or just before 4.30, to hear them confirm the girls at the top 😉

If twitter is your thing, then the girls are doing (another) twitter session – is it just me or are these become so common it’s kinda boring? – anyway you can attempt to get a question answered by tweet your question @GlamourMagUK and remember to include the hashtag #GLAMOURTheSats

There’s obviously A LOT of news doing the rounds this week as the girls keep high profile to keep the single sales up! I won’t post everything here but will post a link to a few articles that you can have a read over.

Up first Vanessa, talks about her crushes (and the like), one for the more adventerous to look over.

Also the girls have revealed that their album is finished – yay – but apparently ‘The Chase’ is only a working title and they have yet to decide to on actual title.

EntertainmentWise have a very long interview with Vanessa over on their site, which you can read the entire interview here but a couple of interesting questions:

What was the first album you ever bought?
I think it was probably like Destiny’s Child. The reunion recently was very exciting, they are one of my favourite groups ever!

Who did you have on your wall as your teen crush?
Oh god I was like 15-years-old and there was an R&B band called B2K who I loved so much. I used to listen to literally all of the albums I was like obsessed. It’s so embarrassing. I’ve got pictures at home of my wall, where it was B2K everywhere.

The DailyMail also talks about their interview with Heat Magazine, I’ve added a few pictures below.

I’m sure there is a whole bunch of stuff that I’ve missed, but there is so much going on. The KEY thing here is that ‘What About Us’ is OUT NOW and we won’t be number one if we don’t keep buying and promoting until 11.59pm SATURDAY. As I said even if the girls are 30,000 or so ahead it means nothing until Saturdays so keep going!

Wednesday Chart Update

A tiny piece of good news for @thesaturdays – their new album On Your Radar has moved up a place, and now sits at number 15 nationally. The album is still Top 15 on iTunes – at time of writing it’s at number 14 (there are 2 NOW albums above it, and the Westlife album which has been wobbling all over the place has moved above them (again)), lets hope we can maintain this Top 15 album until Sunday!

Remember you can buy the album in all good record stores and obviously you can grab a copy from iTunes as well!

Tuesday Chart Update

Seems @thesaturdays are also suffering in this ‘Anti Established Pop’ acts vibe that is running through the UK charts right now. It seems unless you name is Rihanna or you are a ‘boy band’ finding sales is difficult. Even Pixie Lott – who if you remember beat our girls to number one – only just managed to go Top 20 with her album last week!

The Tuesday chart update places On Your Radar at a rather lowly 16. Which is amazing if you think that they are about to set off on a fairly large arena tour, but are struggling to sell albums. I understand Christmas is coming up and many fans might have asked for the album as a present so people aren’t buying this week, but still number 16 isn’t that great …

The plus is that it is only Tuesday. Lots of time still to buy the album. Pop over to our friendly iTunes store and download a copy. Plus obviously you can now pop into your local music store such as HMV and pick up a copy or three. Plus also get your friends to buy a copy – its a good album its worth a listen!

Let’s try and get it nearer the Top 10 than the Top 20!!

Thursday Chart Update: Number 13

@thesaturdays seem to be suffering from the ‘new album out in a few days’ syndrome where people aren’t picking up the single as there is an album only a few days away. On the Thursday chart update ‘My Heart Takes Over’ sits at number 13. Unless there is a sales burst between now and Saturday it looks like ‘My Heart Takes Over’ will only be the 2nd single they’ve released that has failed to go Top 10, after Work charted at number 22.

You can still help change this, by buying the single using the links below 🙂

My Heart Takes Over – iTunes (£1.99)
My Heart Takes Over – Amazon MP3 (£1.69)
My Heart Takes Over (Radio Remixes) – Amazon MP3 – £1.99
My Heart Takes Over (Radio Remixes) – iTunes – £2.49
My Heart Takes Over – Club Remixes – Amazon MP3 – £5.34
My Heart Takes Over – Club Remixes – iTunes – £5.94

Wednesday Chart Update: Outside Top 10

@thesaturdays have dropped to number 12 on the Wednesday chart update! We need to keep buying everyone, I’m sure we can make Top 10 if we spread the word and get more people buying! I know the album is out in a matter of days, and its tempting not to buy the single but if everyone just bought the one song for under £1 I’m sure we can get it back into the Top 10!

Notorious : Week 2

Not news I like to bring but the lack of promo from @TheSaturdays has hit Notorious badly this week, as the song sadly drops 13 places 🙁 to number 21 in this weeks UK Top 40.

Hopefully the girls will hit the promotional trail soon so the song can reclaim a Top20 or even a Top 10 placement.
