Vanessa speaks to Verge Magazine

Here’s a preview of an Interview with @VanessaWhite with Verge Magazine, apparently the full interview is in the next issue of the magazine.

The gorgeous Vanessa White sat down with Verge’s Ryan Duggins to give us all the behind-the-scenes goss on the making of The Sats new album, On Your Radar. Check out the snippet below and catch the full interview in the next issue of Verge Magazine…

The new album sounds great! It’s got a real club vibe. Will you ever get bored of partying?

Erm, well I’m sure I will when I get to like 40. But not right now, no. I’m loving it. On a personal level, I don’t really go that much to the big clubs where the paparazzi and the media will be, you know? I’m a local pub kind of girl who likes hanging out with my mates!

How do guys impress you when you are out?

You know what, just make me laugh. That’s always the key. I think that guys maybe a little bit intimidated, and maybe I am quite an intimidating person without even realising. I can be quite loud and I’m always with a lot of friends so maybe that could be an issue. But it’s weird, I have no idea how you would impress me.  I just want to have fun really at this age.

You’re the youngest of the group, do the other girls look after you a little bit?

Yeah, I mean, they look after me all the time. Rochelle’s got that big Sister quality about her that keeps me in check, which is really good, because I need that sometimes. So it’s good she looks out for me.

You’ve been performing since you were young, do you ever feel like you’ve missed out on growing up a little bit?

I made a lot of mistakes at the age of 15 or 16… I went to theatre school so I guess it was all a bit different because there were only 150 people in the school. But I did go through a rebelling stage at that age, so no. I started doing this when I was 17 so at that point I told myself that I needed to grow up a little bit. d want to go to Uni’ actually when I was younger, but to be honest, I wanted to be a singer so I stuck with that. I would have studied either Music or English Literature if I did go though!

The girls embark on National Radio Tour

Busy times for @thesaturdays as today was day 1 (of 5) of their National UK tour of local radio stations – see everyone they do promote outside London and Manchester after all 😀

Today it seems Rochelle and Vanessa have been taken in the sights of Wales and South England (they are on route to Southampton right now) where Una and Mollie have been visiting Scotland. According to their own website:

“The girls will divide and conquer to cover the breadth of the UK, taking in ScotlandNewcastlewest YorkshireBirminghamWiganSwanseaHampshireBrightonNottingham and more… all in just five days.”

If today is anything to go by it seems Una & Mollie are doing the Northern radio stations with Rochelle and Vanessa taking the southern ones. Although obviously they will swap tomorrow now we’ve posted this and we will look silly!

Pride of Britain Awards 2011

The lovely ladies of @thesaturdays where at last nights Pride of Britain Awards – the show airs on TV tomorrow on ITV1, we will capture any appearances that the girls made. Below is a video from the Mirror newspaper where Una, Vanessa and Mollie talk about their outfits (and a bunch of other celebrities)

Mollie: ‘The Saturdays make me wet myself’

Seems @MollieTheSats needs to keep a toilet nearby 😀

Mollie King has admitted to wetting herself as an adult.

The singer blamed her Saturdays bandmates for making her laugh so hard that she lost control.

Asked if she had ever wet herself as an adult, King told Heat: “Yeah, but only when the girls make me laugh so much that a little bit of pee comes out.”
She added: “God, I sound so unattractive, don’t I?!”
King also revealed that she and Frankie Sandford “squabble like sisters” and had a fight the previous day.
“We’d promised each other we’d both wear tracksuits, but she turned up at mine in nice leggings,” King said.
“So I took my tracksuit off and put shorts on, but then she was like, ‘That’s not fair!’. So I had to put the tracksuit back on. It was a bit silly.”
King, who is currently dating male model David Gandy, claimed in 2010 to have only kissed three boys in her life.

Mollie King goes for schoolgirl chic

@MollieTheSats was photographed last night at the popular London club Mahiki. She looked great as always but the Daily Mail’s reporting (as usual) leaves a lot to be desired.

Now that she’s a world-famous pop star, school must seem like a very long time ago for The Saturdays singer Mollie King.

But last night the 24-year-old singer channelled her inner schoolgirl as she headed out for a night on the town at London nightclub Mahiki.

Donning a pair of grey knee socks, teamed with a tiny yellow miniskirt, brown boots and top and a red satchel, Mollie grinned as she posed for photographers outside the nightspot.

Mollie looked fresh-faced on her evening out, especially given that she had just flown back from Iceland just hours before after shooting the new video for My Heart Takes Over with the rest of her Saturdays bandmates in the freezing cold country.

The group’s trip to Iceland comes as reports have emerged the girls have signed a big-money deal with US television channel E! Entertainment for their own reality TV series.

A source told the Daily Star: ‘This deal is huge for the girls. If it goes well it could transform them from a UK girl band to international stars.
