Mollie’s Birthday Book, Una wins The Voice and more

Hi all!
Just a quick update about Mollie’s birthday book! To help raise additional funds I am personally selling a signed copy of the girls US EP ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ on eBay. 100% of the money is going to this years chosen charity The British Heart Foundation. Please give it a look on eBay and bid if you can!

Last night Una’s act Patrick Donoghue was crowned the winner of The Voice of Ireland! So congrats to Una and Patrick for their fine win. The winners single is on iTunes Ireland now! Una has also expressed her interest in returning to the show for the next series!

Here’s Mollie and more Magnum …

Doncaster and more

Firstly a huge thanks to everyone who was involved in the meet up at Doncaster this weekend, lots of talk, laughs (drinks) and topped off with a great gig too! We all had a blast that’s for certain. If you where in attendance I’m sure you enjoyed it too as the girls put on another great show! (Lawson weren’t bad either 😉 )
For those asking the girls didn’t perform Gentleman, the first performance of that is expected to be this coming Saturday at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Also should add, just in case she reads this, thanks to Vanessa for following us on Twitter last week. We are now followed by both Mollie and Vanessa, so make sure you follow us too on @TheSatsCoUk 🙂

Una took to her blog on Hello to talk about the show being ‘axed’ and confirms that the show only had a 10 episode run anyway, so make of this what you will. I guess ultimately you can spin it both ways ‘being axed’, ‘not renewed’ etc. The media will always be the media!

If you have forgotten (and I hope not!) the Gentleman music video premieres this week, so something to look forward to as the week progresses, they will no doubt ‘tease’ us more as the week progresses.

Or is it …. Chasing The Saturdays

Well news is still rumbling around about the ‘cancellation’ of Chasing The Saturdays, MTV UK are saying that ‘maybe it isn’t …” but seems to be very choice words coming out of The Saturdays camp …

From MTV News:

However, a spokesperson for the band has since stated: “Chasing The Saturdays was originally only commissioned for one season.

“The show has since been picked up by 46 territories around the world. The head of E! is coming into the UK next week to discuss a Christmas special.”

Make of that what you will!

Thanks to @TeamSatsFrance on twitter who have tweeted us the following from the girls recent trip to France! As I said yesterday if there is a news item/media/video/magazine (anything really) from a country you live in of the girls and we miss, fire it over to us and we will add it 🙂

Chasing The Saturdays Cancelled

Those hoping for Season 2 of Chasing The Saturdays, might have to wait longer, its being reported today that the show has been cancelled by E! Reports suggest that viewing figures dropped below 100,000 and that the show was ‘too nice’. Sad news for those who liked the show, where as other people reading this might not be too surprised by this. Hopefully the girls will go back to the USA but try a more traditional route and do tons of promo across radio! (It does work, look at Little Mix, Olly Murs etc. Just needs a bit of planning and travelling!) So fingers crossed for the US fans that they come back soon 🙂

In current news, the girls are currently in France, doing a bit of promo there for ‘What About Us’ if you are a french visitor and have news/media/clips (anything really) then please send to us and we will add it as news (and credit you!) as its impossible for us to keep up to date with EVERYTHING that is going on across the world!

Apparently Frankie doesn’t want to be a ‘fat bride’ – take of that what you will – and the girls performed at the Sony Radio Music Awards the other night, hopefully will get some pictures of of that soon. In baby talk Una has been talking about Ben ‘can’t wait to get me pregnant again’ – maybe we need to rename the Site now to The Saturdays Juniors!

The girls added another summer show yesterday, as they will be playing the Glow at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent on August 10th. We are going down there (as its local to us!) so hopefully see some of you down there. Tickets are on sale now from Ticketmaster, it’s a seated event so if you want a good seat then act now, there’s a good batch still available in the first few rows so be quick and snap those up! (We are in Block A!)

Frankie in OK Magazine, Australia

Hey all! Hope Monday treated you all well, its now Tuesday so we are one step closer (haha) to the weekend

Frankie is in the new OK Magazine talking about her engagement to Wayne:

FrankieOkMag

Not too many details on their site, so you will have to rush out and buy the magazine, it also says ‘Interview with The Saturdays’ so maybe there is more, we will post more as we get it! You can read (a tiny bit more) on their website

Also here’s an article from the other side of the world (well for us anyway!) here’s the girls speaking to Yahoo! Australia!

Speaking over the phone to promote the show’s Australian premiere, the group’s bubbly blonde Mollie King and mother-figure Rochelle Humes claim the cameras never stopped rolling, allowing for a warts-and-all depiction of their lives.

“We always said to each other ‘If we’re going to do this we need to show people actual reality’,” King says.

“There were moments when we were feeling a bit vulnerable and I think we’ve all had a crying moment on the show. At those points you sort of wish the cameras weren’t there but it’s something that we signed up for so we had to sort of go along with it.

“You do get a real insight into everything. You see us all at our highest points and our lowest points.”

You can read more at the source but it’s (sadly) pretty much the same promotional talk they’ve been doing for Chasing The Saturdays globally, but those new fans in Australia probably haven’t heard it yet so its good promo 🙂

What About Us .. Tuesday Update

Hey all! It’s Tuesday (Just in case you have forgotten) but today will mean we will get a sales/chart update around mid-morning. As most in the UK will know Ant & Dec’s performance of their 1994 single ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rumble’ has taken iTunes by storm and as of posting this (9.10am) its a good 27% ahead of What About Us on the singles iTunes chart. Obviously this doesn’t count sales of What About Us from remixes, the newly released version on iTunes without Sean Paul and EP sales. I was hoping that Ant & Dec would suffer sales from midweek onwards, but once the UK sees a ‘jokey’ number one everyone jumps on the bandwagon! We will see what the damage is later this morning. Either way its still good for everyone to promote What About Us!

Last night (boohoo) saw the LAST Episode of Chasing The Saturdays air on E! in the USA, Season 2, according to various reports is still being debated upon, but as usual here’s the final analysis after-show video:

Here are a few more pictures of the girls after celebrating their number one single, What About Us! I will hopefully get a gallery update soon with some new HQ pictures, keep an eye on our twitter @TheSatsCoUk for updates to our gallery!

Countdown is on ..

WhatAboutUs

Not that anyone needs reminding but the BRAND NEW single from The Saturdays is releasd in the UK this SUNDAY! The song is getting great support from UK Radio so we need to make sure that everyone buys a copy. Pre-Order it now from iTunes £1.99, also on Amazon MP3 (£1.69) Amazon also have the remixes bundle for £4.45 (I assume something similar might appear on iTunes too by Sunday. With huge support from radio this could be the girls best chance of a chart topper since ‘All Fired Up’ so make sure you buy and get everyone else to!

Episode 8 of ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ aired yesterday! #SatsAndTats, here is the official post-show show:

The girls (very brief) US promo continues today as they hit Kiss 95.7 in Connecticut this morning, hopefully this means that ‘What About Us’ is going to be served to US Radio today, lets hope Z100 and KIIS LA give it some extra nice loving!

The girls did a bit of sightseeing – and promo – yesterday in New York, I’ve posted a few pictures below:
