November 2011

7 Days ….

@thesaturdays All Fired Up Tour kicks off in just seven days .. yes it is really only a week away when the girls hit the seaside town of Bournemouth to start up their new Arena Tour! Excited? We sure are that is for sure!!!

If you live in the south coast, and want to go, then don’t hang around, Tickets are still available, from Ticketmaster! You can even pick up tickets for as little as £21 via SeeTickets and you can pick up some tickets via the venue too

We hope to see some of you down there!

Thursday Chart Update

I’ll keep this short and sweet but @thesaturdays On Your Radar currently sit at number 17 on the Thursday chart update, seems we are sadly slipping outside the Top 20. The anti-pop establishment in the UK must be jumping for joy right now!

Get everyone you know to buy the album before midnight on Sunday 🙂

Wednesday Chart Update

A tiny piece of good news for @thesaturdays – their new album On Your Radar has moved up a place, and now sits at number 15 nationally. The album is still Top 15 on iTunes – at time of writing it’s at number 14 (there are 2 NOW albums above it, and the Westlife album which has been wobbling all over the place has moved above them (again)), lets hope we can maintain this Top 15 album until Sunday!

Remember you can buy the album in all good record stores and obviously you can grab a copy from iTunes as well!

Rochelle: ‘ovarian cyst caused weight gain’

@RochelleTheSats has been talking about her weight loss/gain to the media.

Rochelle Wiseman was the subject of much tabloid attention when she appeared earlier in 2011 having lost weight.

Now the Saturdays singer has revealed she had just returned to her normal size after gaining weight in 2010 because of a health problem.

The star told New! magazine: “I had an operation at the start of last year. I had a cyst on my ovary and it made me put on a lot of weight.”

“I went a full dress size bigger – from a size 8 up to a 10, maybe even a 12. Everyone thinks I’ve tried to lose weight, but I genuinely haven’t.”

Rochelle received criticism about her fuller figure at the time but took to Twitter to have a go at the online bullies who called her fat.

She tweeted: “I’m really getting annoyed reading that people are calling me fat! I’m a size 10 not 100! I’m human and curvy get over it! It’s boring!”

“I’m just starting to get sick of it!!! No wonder people get a complex!! I think it’s a disgrace!!”

“As a band we take pride in being role models to children and other young girls and I think that the best role model is someone who is comfortable in their own skin! And I am.”

Tuesday Chart Update

Seems @thesaturdays are also suffering in this ‘Anti Established Pop’ acts vibe that is running through the UK charts right now. It seems unless you name is Rihanna or you are a ‘boy band’ finding sales is difficult. Even Pixie Lott – who if you remember beat our girls to number one – only just managed to go Top 20 with her album last week!

The Tuesday chart update places On Your Radar at a rather lowly 16. Which is amazing if you think that they are about to set off on a fairly large arena tour, but are struggling to sell albums. I understand Christmas is coming up and many fans might have asked for the album as a present so people aren’t buying this week, but still number 16 isn’t that great …

The plus is that it is only Tuesday. Lots of time still to buy the album. Pop over to our friendly iTunes store and download a copy. Plus obviously you can now pop into your local music store such as HMV and pick up a copy or three. Plus also get your friends to buy a copy – its a good album its worth a listen!

Let’s try and get it nearer the Top 10 than the Top 20!!

‘On Your Radar’ – OUT NOW!!

The AMAZING @thesaturdays new album On Your Radar is FINALLY out. It’s a VERY busy week for new albums, someone called Rihanna is releasing an album, and One Direction are also out. So it’s going to be tough, but we can do this? Surely TeamSats?!

My Heart Takes Over Chart Position & Xtra Factor

@thesaturdays brand new single My Heart Takes Over debuts in the UK Singles chart this week at Number 15. It’s sadly their first single not to debut inside the UK Top 10 since the release of Work back in the summer of 2009. You can still buy the single to support it, and remember the new album On Your Radar is out in a matter of hours!!

The girls where supposedly appearing on the Xtra Factor tonight to perform My Heart Takes Over and no doubt get a last bit of promo in for the album – which is released very shortly – and now it seems they aren’t …. We’ll see how this develops … no doubt we’ll find out soon enough to why it didn’t happen!

X Factor – 19th November

On last night’s show @LittleMixOffic met up with @TheSaturdays at their tour rehearsals. Our girls gave the girls of Little Mix some advice, and championed their cause to become X Factor winners 2011! You can catch the girls speaking to Little Mix below. Remember our girls will be on the Xtra Factor this evening – 9pm on ITV2 🙂
