Mollie blogs …

Mollie The Saturdays

Yeyy so it’s my time to write the blog!! Hope you’re all well and enjoying our diary of the tour!! We’re having just the BEST time ever!! Every day i wake up and literally jump out of bed with excitement!!

So yesterday we had a 10 hour car journey, yes i repeat 10 HOURS, from Glasgow to Bournemouth!! Wowza!! It was full on, but of course us Saturdays made it fun fun fun and had lots of adventures!! I have to say though, i was trying to get the girls to join in with my VERY fun car journey games, and it wasn’t until the last hour that they actually gave in and played, woo!! 20 questions, writing songs, oh we had it all!!! Good times!! 🙂 …although they won’t admit it!! Haha!

Bournemouth is LOVELY!!!! Our hotel is right by the sea! Una, Frank and I went for a stroll this morning (feeling very touristy with our sunglasses on, oh yes!) and then had some lunch in the sunshine!! …Perfect!

We were all extra nervous about performing this evening because our super-cool choreographer Kate was coming to watch, so we really wanted to impress her and make her proud!! After having eaten slightly too much chocolate cake at dinner (oops!), i squeezed into my costume and got ready for SHOW TIME baby!! We banged out the moves though and the crowd were awesome!!

We’re now just back in the room chilling out and are about to head down to the beach for a little evening walk, so i better go!!!!

Hope you’re all well! Thanks for reading!!!

And as Usher says “Peace up, A-town down”! Hahaha!!!

Bye guys!!!!!

Vanessa The Saturdays

Hope everyone is well. Weve just finished doing our second show in Glasgow and it was so much fun. I’m still buzzing! There was a lovely warmth about the crowd here which is always really nice!

Me and Una didnt hear our alarm this morning and missed breakfast. We literally ran down the stairs in our pjs with no makeup on and had to eat in like 5 minutes. I was actually still in my dream……what a sight!

Rochelle’s just come into mine and Una’s room and we’ve ordered room service which I am overly excited about. Its so nice to have your girls with you, we were just saying today how hard it must be if you were a solo artist because most of the time you’d have to go back to your hotel with no one but yourself. I would be soo bored and wouldn’t know what to do….o gosh im blabbing now sorry guys lol! Im just gonna quickly tell you about tomorrow and I’ll be done, promise! We’ve got to get up really early (I hope I make it) and then we’re travelling by car to Bournemouth. Its gonna be like an 8 hour drive!! I’m going to try and sleep there!

I’m signing out now, girls gotta get their beauty sleep lol!!

Its our second stay in Glasgow, but tonight was our first performance here!! Its kind of scary performing to a new crowd because you don’t know what the reaction may be! But it has to be said the Scotts didn’t let us down!!

Before we went on stage we had a catch up with Nadine from G/A discussing nerves and more importantly outfits haha!!!! I have to say the girls certainly pull out all of the stops when it comes to costumes!! Also there entrance onto stage is AMAZING!!!!! So if your coming to watch the show your in for a treat!! You’ll get yourself a double wammy, Girls Aloud and The Saturdays!!

The only down fall on this tour so far is the food! Its sssoooooo good i can hardly fit into my dress!!! The desserts are way too tempting!

So i woke up at 7.45 today to do some running at the gym (well try to run) so, i made myself feel a bit better!!

If you haven’t been to Glasgow before then you should, its a really buzzing city and the shops are REALLY good!!

I have found my self lost at a check-out a few times already, its terrible because we’ve only just arrived!! i blame Vanessa she makes me buy everything! (although i do return the favour haha)

Its so much fun being away with four of your mates every night is like one big sleep over!! I bought goodies today so we might have a midnight feast haha (that’s if i can stay up)

I suppose your completely bored of me rambling on now aren’t you?!! So I’ll say goodnight to you all!!

But if you want a chat or want me to find out any gossip (I’m good at that) then you know where i am!!

Lots of love Roch!!

This is my first blog to you all so going to start with a quick update on how the tour is going so far. We left London on Friday at 7am and drove to hollyhead to catch a Ferry to Dublin and from there drove to Belfast… total of 11 hours travel! We had 3 great gigs in Belfast, I was so nervous for the 1st gig because I have never performed in front of thousands of people in all my life so I was shaking but adrenaline is always a good thing! On the first night we met two of the members of girls aloud… Cheryl and Kimberly, they came into our dressing room and had a nice chat with us and told us how nervous they used to feel, its was really reassuring, they were really lovely and encouraging to us. We got to watch their show after and it was spectacular! Hopefully one day we will get to do a show like theirs, but not without fans, as without fans it wouldn’t be possible, so we NEED you! We really appreciate everyone who posts comments on our forums.

I am writing this from my hotel room in Glasgow, we arrived here today by Ferry from Belfast. It is a really beautiful City

I am sharing a room with Vanessa, we just ordered hot chocolate and are about to fall asleep but I look forward to getting to know all of you and will be back here really soon to update you with what we are up to.

The Saturdays Feature

It’s not gone unnoticed that music’s needed a bloody good kick up the arse for some time now. Indie and R&B are all well and good, but what the hell are we supposed to dance to? Well wonder no more, because The Saturdays are about to throw themselves headfirst into your consciousness like a five-woman whirlwind, and bring back some much-needed, shameless fun to the charts.

As well as being sassy, talented and purveyors of some of the most instantly likeable songs you’ll have heard for eons, these girls just wanna have fun. They don’t take themselves too seriously, their tracks are genuinely brilliant and adults are going to love them just as much as kids. What’s not to like?

They’re called The Saturdays because, as Rochelle explains, “It’s everyone’s favourite day of the week, and it’s always the best night out.”

They’re pure pop, and proud of it. “Why are people ashamed of pop?” says Mollie. “Everyone’s taking themselves so seriously at the moment. We’re a proper, full-on girl band and we’re loving it.”

“We’re not models who can’t sing – we can all sing, we can all dance,” adds Frankie, “and no one’s telling us who to be or what to do. We’re all different because we’re just ourselves, and that’s the way it should be.”

The fivesome are about to head off on tour with Girls Aloud ahead of the release of their first single, the electro-pop winner If This Is Love (£1.50 and packet of Chewits to the first person who can spot the subtle sample).

“We can’t wait to get out and sing in front of loads of people, it’s going to be brilliant,” says an excited Vanessa, “and I’m sure there will be some good parties along the way.”

“And getting our first single out there is going to be amazing,” continues Una. “We’ve been working hard for a long time now and we want to show everyone what we’re all about and what we can do. We’re ready for it!”

Frankie from Essex
Frankie first found fame in S Club Juniors back in 2002. She continued singing after the band split and has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to come along – and here it is. She says it how it is and she’s a take you or leave you kind of girl. She loves going to gigs and hates it when people make noise while they’re eating – “I always have to say something”. She loves men and will openly check out any handsome guys that walk past, and it’s safe to say that most men will find they’ve met their match in her. When it comes to guys she likes scruffy musician types and is most likely to find her perfect partner at a festival. She’s a perfectionist and she currently has an obsession with chocolate croissants.

Una, from Tipperary, Ireland
Una started her singing career in a rock band, and later wrote and recorded her own album, which she showcased around the bars and clubs of her native Ireland. She’s a sensitive, feisty type who seems like the sensible member of the group, but every now and again she’ll surprise you with her wicked sense of humour. She’s laid back and a bit of a homebody and loves relaxing and watching films. She’s an amazing guitarist, enjoys working out any stress down the gym and she loves a cup of tea. She can’t bear negative people and doesn’t understand why people feel the need to diss others. Her fellow band mates say that “everything about her is classy”.

Mollie from Richmond
Mollie was in a couple of girl bands when she was younger but never got to the stage where any music was released. She’s girlie, has one of the loudest laughs you’ll ever hear and gets excited about everything. She’s abbreviates any word she can, can’t wait to meet celebrities (Britney is her absolute favourite) and is a big worrier. She dislikes rude and unmotivated people and loves fashion, rummaging around for vintage clothes. She likes long hair on a man and would like to meet a nice surfer guy on the beach.

Vanessa from East London
Vanessa was born in Somerset and attended the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School in Central London. She’s appeared in several theatre shows, including the West End production of The Lion King. Rochelle describes her as “our Christina Aguilera – but ridiculously modest”. Her favourite saying is ‘cringe’, she’s cute with a feisty side and is very clear about what she does and doesn’t like. She laughs at anything and everything, and even though she may comes across as a bit shy at first, she can often be found getting into trouble with her partner-in-crime, Frankie. She can be hyper, loves bright clothes and hates rude, arrogant or bitchy people.

Rochelle from Essex
Rochelle was a child actress and was later in S Club Juniors with – you guessed it! – Frankie, who she’s known since she was 9. She presented for Children’s BBC for two years after S Club split, before landing her place in the band. She’s bubbly, loud, funny and loves shopping – “I don’t like saving for a rainy day. If it’s raining, I’ll go shopping anyway!” And she likes to convince the other girls in the band to spend money to lessen her guilt. Her mum is her best friend and she hates people breathing on her and bad smells (especially people with BO on the tube). She’s opinionated and honest and loves people with ambition. She likes tall, dark, muscley, handsome men who are successful at whatever they do. She’s keeps the band in check, and makes sure everyone is where they need to be, when they need to be there!
